‘Sims 4’ To Hit Xbox And PlayStation 4 With All Expansions Plus Extra Pack

Fans have been waiting ever since Sims 4 made its way to the PC for news about a possible console release. Originally announced in May 2013, the newest title of the much-loved Sims franchise hit Microsoft Windows in September 2014. In February 2015, Sims 4 also made its way to the Mac OS. When Sims 3 launched in the PC, it took Maxis just over a year to bring Sims 3 to the Xbox and PlayStation consoles. Now that we are just a few months removed from the second year anniversary of Sims 4 on PC, we’re left with the question: When will Sims 4 really get ported to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4?

Apparently, developer Maxis and publisher Electronic Arts are hard at work on the console version of Sims 4, but they are having quite a hard time pulling it off completely without the bugs and crashes. It seems Maxis wants to create a console version of Sims 4 that is almost close to perfection.

Another concern for Sims 4 devs is that they wanted to come up with a console version after the DLCs and upgrades on the PC version. They want to come out with a console version of Sims 4 that is already equipped with all the current DLCs (game packs, expansion packs, and stuff packs) to be able to run on par with the PC version. Whether all these expansions will be bundled free with the game or will come as a separate purchase or Season Pass of some sort is currently unclear.

As of writing, the PC and Mac versions of Sims 4 can already be equipped with the following expansions, and we can expect the Xbox One and PS4 version of Sims 4 to come fully-equipped with these:

Additionally, rumors are suggesting a extra Pet Expansion pack may come with the Sims 4 versions on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. This extra expansion pack, outside the regular packs that already came out on the PC, is said to be a way for the devs to compensate for the delay of the port.

If you have the Sims 4 on PC, a Restaurant pack and Dine Out pack have been leaked to come out soon. So if you have been itching for new material, hold out for these upcoming packs. Apparently, these packs will also come with the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 ports of Sims 4.

Because of the technical difficulty experienced by the devs, Sims 4’s Xbox One and PlayStation 4 ports are expected to hit the streets late 2016 to early 2017.
