‘The 100’ Season 3: Erica Cerra On Alie’s State Of Mind, Losing Raven And The Season 3 Finale

The 100 Season 3 finale, titled “Perverse Instantiation – Part Two” airs on The CW network in less than a week. What can fans expect from Alie, Clarke, Bellamy, Octavia, Raven and the other characters? Spoilers and the extended promo have been released. Also, Erica Cerra spoke about Alie’s state of mind, how the AI feels about losing Raven and more.

Alie has gained a huge number of followers and it is not limited to Arkadia. The artificial intelligence entity has the Grounders as part of her army, too. With each person Alie gets access to, her strength only increases. Raven was one human being that Alie wanted more than anyone else. She succeeded, but only until Clarke, Bellamy and the others intervened. So, how does the AI feel about Raven now that she is no longer on Team Alie?

Erica Cerra told IGN that Alie has respect for Raven Reyes. The 100 character is intelligent, has great tech skills and is clever. Even though the actress couldn’t speak about Alie’s view of Raven with any emotion, she did say that the AI probably still wants her as an ally.

Even though many viewers consider Alie a villain, someone determined to destroy them all, Cerra, has a different perspective. The actress explained that Alie’s actions are not necessarily about controlling others. The AI’s program was installed to ensure humans would continue to exist. To the artificial intelligence, if one man and one woman are saved, then she did her job.

As far as Alie’s state of mind, how does she feel about the second AI? Well, it turns out that Alie doesn’t understand it and doesn’t comprehend what the second AI is for. At the same time, she also knows a bit about what the other AI can do and is concerned.

“She just knows she wants to get her hands on it so that it doesn’t affect her goal and doesn’t destroy her but as far as the second AI, Alie just doesn’t understand it. She wants to make sure she can get ahold of it,” Erica Cerra told IGN regarding Alie and the second AI in The 100. “She knows that her creator went off to create this second AI so it must be an upgrade. ‘Is it an upgrade? Is it something to conquer me?’ She just needs to get ahold of it because she feels it belongs to her.”

During the last episode of The 100, Clarke’s plan to defeat Alie failed. It turned out that Jasper was chipped, so Alie knew their plans. Even though Clarke was the only person who knew the password for the Flame, she refused to give up the information. Just like how Jaha got to Kane by using Abby, Clarke’s mother used herself as bait to get the information. However, it didn’t work and Clarke kept holding on to the password. Even though Abby hung herself, Clarke would not give up the password, no matter how much it affected her emotions.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, the Season 3 finale of The 100 will have Abby back to normal. However, they still have to stop Alie and Clarke comes up with one final plan, but it could be deadly. In the extended promo for “Perverse Instantiation – Part Two,” Clarke will have to visit the City of Light and destroy Alie from the inside.

“In the season’s epic and mind-bending conclusion, our heroes begin to face the reality of their tragic situation,” KSite TV wrote regarding the Season 3 finale. “Everyone prepares for a final showdown.”

With Clarke going into the City of Light, fans are concerned about her safety. Murphy says in the extended promo for “Perverse Instantiation – Part Two” that she will die in the City of Light. However, one scene in the promo clip shows Clarke convulsing and then waking up and gasping for air. Hopefully, Clarke will make it out alive and Alie will be stopped before it is too late.

The CW will air The 100 Season 3 finale, titled “Perverse Instantiation – Part Two” on May 19.
