Ozzy Osbourne Cheating Scandal: Is It A Publicity Stunt?

Amid reports that Ozzy Osbourne has been found cheating on Sharon Osbourne with Michelle Pugh and quite possibly a number of other women, Sharon Osbourne is apparently interviewing divorce attorneys to bring her 33-year marriage to the rocker to an end, Wonderwall shares.

However, sources claim that the whole situation seems a bit opportunistic and follows along on the heels of Beyoncé’s recent tale of infidelity against rapper husband Jay Z along with the release of her latest album, Lemonade. The skeptics claim that it all may simply be a publicity stunt on the part of the Osbournes, who could certainly use a bit of a boost in popularity at the moment.

Page Six was the first celebrity publication to question Sharon’s motives when following the news that Ozzy had cheated, the couple showed up together at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles on May 12. The purpose of the appearance was to announce the 20th anniversary of Ozzfest which is slated for Sept. 24. The publication even spotted Ozzy giving his wife a big hug.

A source, described as an “entertainment industry insider,” told Page Six of Sharon’s sneaky ways.

“Sharon is the queen of publicity stunts, there’s always deliberate drama going on, it maintains interest in them as a family. She’s a very smart woman, it would be very hard for Ozzy to carry on an affair under her nose without her knowing about it,” the insider tells the tab. “If it is a stunt, it has got him almost as much press as when he bit that bat’s head off.”

Still being the manager of her husband’s band also raises suspicions against Sharon. Reason for this being that the talk show host and mother of two stands to gain her own slice of publicity due to the fact that any press aimed at Ozzy for his upcoming tour will ensure her name is in the headlines as well.

When referencing Queen Bey’s recent album that dropped, entitled Lemonade, Sharon’s daughter Kelly was one to allude to the album title by taking to Instagram. The publication shares how she poses with a lemon and asks “guess who’s turning [lemons] into lemonade,” which is also a line out of the power couple’s book.

News that Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne were calling their marriage quits broke on May 7. Only a few short days later, Sharon opened up about the whole turn of events on her show, The Talk.

“I’m 63 years of age and I can’t keep living like this … I’m not with him,” she said on the May 10 show. “I just need time to really think about myself … what do I really want for the rest of my life?”

As it stands, neither of the Osbournes’ reps have responded to the claims regarding the split being a publicity stunt. Additionally, other sources close to the couple claim that Sharon and Ozzy actually have real problems. It was, after all, only earlier this year that Sharon shared about an event from years gone by when she walked in on Ozzy and other women, back when their grown children were only kids.

When the manager and television personality was asked if she held this against Ozzy, Sharon brushed it off due to the substances Ozzy was using at the time.

“She added on ‘The Talk’ that she didn’t blame Ozzy for his behavior, and when asked if she was angry, she said, ‘No way! He was out of his mind. He’s calling me his first wife, he’s calling them me, he don’t know!'”

As stated, Ozzy is now sober, and drug-induced infidelity is no longer an excuse he can fall back on.
