Jason Derulo To Be Immortalized As Wax Figure At Madame Tussaud’s

Jason Derulo, the American singer famous for creating songs like “Wiggle,” “Talk Dirty,” “In My Head,” and “Whatcha Say” is going to be immortalized very soon as a wax figure. According to Just Jared, it was announced on Monday, April 25, that Jason Derulo would be immortalized as a Madame Tussaud’s Hollywood Wax Figure.

The announcement filled Derulo with excitement, as he sees the honor as one of the proudest moments of his life to date.

Jason Derulo spoke on the moment he found out that he was going to be getting a wax figure, saying that it “felt incredible” when he received the news that he would be “immortalized.” Calling the news “the ultimate level of stardom,” Jason Derulo said that the first thing he did after receiving the news was to phone his mother.

“That’s the ultimate level of stardom. I’m like mama, They’re going to make a wax doll out of me and she was like WHAAAT!”

Jason Derulo went on to say that he has always wanted to have a double of himself (or, as he called it, to have “two me’s”) and that he is most looking forward to the moment when he comes face-to-face with himself.

“There will two Derulos! It’s going to be a spectacle!”

The process of measuring Derulo happened soon after with more than 250 measurements taken in a little over two hours. The wax model of Jason Derulo is expected to be unveiled in mid-2016, and will feature the singer striking a pose in one of his signature dance moves. The Jason Derulo wax figure is estimated to be valued at $350,000.

The build up to Jason Derulo receiving recognition as a wax figure might have come as a surprise to some, but considering how busy he has been recently it might have seemed like the next logical step for the singing superstar. According to MTV, Jason Derulo released “If It Ain’t Love” as a possible first single off of his upcoming fifth album.

Just like any of his other hits, fans will be hearing this track almost on repeat whether they like it or not. “If It Ain’t Love” was written and produced by the Monsters and the Strangerz and, with a club-ready beat and a glitchy chorus, the song certainly lives up to its name.

Apart from his new single, Derulo also found himself featured with the Pentatonix in a single coming from their self-titled album.

In other news, Daily Mail reported that Jason Derulo dressed up as Rick James during his appearance on a recent episode of Lip Sync Battle.

It might have been his jam when he was younger, which is why Jason Derulo found himself performing the Rick James classic “Superfreak” on the show. In a very amusing change of pace, Derulo wore the Rick James-inspired chest-baring spandex while being joined on stage by some Rick James inspired backup dancers, also clad in spandex. Derulo even brought in a park bench that looked just like the one that was featured in James’ video.

That particular Lip Sync Battle episode featured Jason Derulo going up against American Idol winner Katharine McPhee. The performance on the show by Derulo served to simply continue the high that he must’ve felt after hosting and performing at the iHeartRadio Music Awards, where he was also nominated for an award. The event was where he performed his new single, “If It Ain’t Love,” a perfectly-timed performance considering the release of the song on April 1.

Jason Derulo posted a tribute after the show on his Instagram, calling the event “unforgettable,” and thanking iHeartRadio for giving him the opportunity to host the festivities. He also congratulated all the other artists that won, all the nominees, and the performers for what was truly a spectacular night.
