Ryan Serhant Speaks Out On Accusations That He’s Buying His Instagram Followers

Ryan Serhant doesn’t usually blog for Million Dollar Listing: New York, as the episodes usually speak for themselves. Serhant is pushing forward to make millions of dollars and he doesn’t really care about his co-stars on the show. Ryan did pair up with Luis D. Ortiz this season, but the two were dropped by the seller, who didn’t see the results he wanted. After that deal fell apart, Ryan may have changed his mind about Luis. And it sounds like Ortiz didn’t care about Ryan either, because he went straight to Fredrik Eklund to gossip about Ryan.

According to a new Bravo report, Ryan Serhant was shocked to hear that his co-stars, Fredrik Eklund and Luis D. Ortiz, were gossiping about his social media presence. During their coffee shop date, the guys thought it would be interesting to call out Ryan for his Instagram likes. He apparently gets plenty of likes, but Luis believes that they are all bought likes. After watching the episode, Ryan Serhant decided to speak out about these accusations.

“In five years of doing this show, I’ve never lied about either of my cast mates. Have I said mean things? Yes. Have I handled myself poorly in some situations? Of course. Have I learned from those moments and tried to grow from them? 100%. But I have never resorted to petty lying to make myself feel better,” Ryan Serhant explains, sharing that he does own his mistakes when it makes them, but buying followers isn’t a mistake because it has never happened.

“I have a decent social media presence for someone on television. I use it as a way to promote business, my favorite charities, and those I love. I also think of it as a visual diary. Emilia and I always talk about how crazy it would be if we could just go online and see what our parents were doing on a random day in the 70s. How mind-blowing would that be? Our kids will be able to do that, and that’s exciting for us as we prepare to get married and start a family,” Serhant points out, sharing that he does post as much as he does because his children will be able to go back and see what he posted in the past.

Of course, Ryan Serhant is also more relatable these days compared to a few years ago. When he first joined Million Dollar Listing: New York, he was single and he was a hustling real estate agent. He wasn’t very relatable because he never shared much about his personal life. As it turns out, he wasn’t really dating and his family didn’t live in New York. When the hurricane episode aired, fans realized that Ryan was completely alone. But when he met Emilia, fans started to see a softer side and people changed their minds about him.

“I would suggest that if you’re so upset about how well I’m doing, to maybe stop spending so much time in coffee shops in Brooklyn on a Tuesday afternoon talking about me,” Ryan Serhant points out, sharing that he will continue to sell and build his empire while they are gossiping about him.

According to another Bravo report, Luis didn’t get Ryan and Emilia an engagement gift, but he is planning on hosting Ryan’s bachelor party before his wedding. He’s getting married this summer, but Serhant may have changed his mind about his co-star hosting a bachelor party for him after learning what was said on last night’s episode of Million Dollar Listing: New York.
