‘Neighbors 2’ Star Zac Efron Wants Vanessa Hudgens Back After Sami Miro Split

Fans might get the reunion they’ve long waited for between Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens. Following the Neighbors 2 star’s split with Sami Miro, new reports indicate that he is trying to win back his ex-girlfriend. Will Hudgens take him back following their emotional split in 2010?

According to Hollywood Life, Efron is interested in getting back together with his former High School Musical lover. Although the two decided to call things off after a five-year relationship, Efron is trying to wedge himself between Hudgens and her current boyfriend, Austin Butler.

In order to win back Hudgen’s heart, Efron has been calling her and leaving “sappy” messages. Not only are Efron’s antics getting on Butler’s nerves, but he also believes that Efron is orchestrating a plan to steal Hudgens away.

“Zac is getting in the middle [of their relationship],” an insider revealed. “And Austin’s sure that’s exactly what Zac wants.”

Meanwhile, a reunion between the former lovers might be coming at the right moment. After all, Efron is currently enjoying a rise in Hollywood that could attract Hudgens back to his camp.

“Zac is finally getting to a place in Hollywood where he wants to be,” the insider continued. “With big tent-poles like Baywatch and Neighbors 2 coming down the line he can now start picking roles that get him to a different place in Hollywood… all of this totally took a toll on his relationship with Sami. He was moving forward in his career and focusing everything on that, and the relationship took the hit.”

Although a reunion offscreen is still in the works, Parent Herald is reporting that Efron and Hudgens are set to be reunited on the small screen in High School Musical 4. As fans will recall, Efron had ruled out reprising his role in High School Musical because of his relationship with Miro. However, now that he and Miro are no longer together, there is a strong possibility that Efron will agree to work on the project.

That being said, with Efron working on so many different projects, it is unclear if he is ready to start a new relationship. In fact, his busy schedule is one of the main reasons why he had to end things with Miro.

“It wasn’t an easy breakup. Distance and work schedules got in the way with their relationship and Zac wanted to focus on his career,” a source explained.

According to People, Efron and Miro dated each other for two years before calling it quits. Apparently, Efron has not taken the split well and has been staying out of the public eye.

“Zac tends to keep to himself and doesn’t seem to hang out with his coworkers often,” an inside source told the outlet. “Between every take and whenever he is not filming, he does push-ups and finds chairs to do triceps dips.”

However, just because Efron is going through a difficult time doesn’t mean he stays away from all the fun, especially when it comes to girls. In fact, the insider went on to reveal that Efron does mingle with the girls on set, including Alexandra Daddario, Izabel Goulart, and Kelly Rohrbach.

As far as Efron is concerned, the actor is now trying to keep things simple as he moves forward with his life without Miro. When speaking to the press during the premiere of Neighbors 2, Efron shared how he is looking forward to the things that bring him the most happiness.

“Try and find what really motivates you, find what you love, and do your best to keep searching for that thing,” he stated. “Work hard when you find it.”
