Paul Rudd Admits To Being Starstruck On The Set Of ‘Captain America’

Paul Rudd admitted he was starstruck on the set of Captain America: Civil War when came close to Iron Man Robert Downey Jr. and Captain America Chris Evans, according to DNA India. The 47-year-old actor added that he felt like he was 10-years-old during their encounter.

Paul Rudd reprises his role of Ant-Man in Captain America: Civil War, which opened Thursday night. The Ant-Man actor made a guest appearance at The Graham Norton Show to confess that he felt like a 10-year-old fangirl being surrounded by his Iron Man and Captain America heroes.

“We shot Ant-Man – but I was alone in a bubble. And all of a sudden I’m standing around seeing Robert Downey Jr in the Iron Man suit, and seeing Chris Evans.”

Paul Rudd also added that it was both crazy and “pretty cool” to stand close to his heroes. Promoting his latest film Captain America: Civil War, in which he co-starred alongside Downey Jr. and Evans, Rudd made a guest appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, according to Rolling Stone.

Jimmy Fallon is known for his fun segments on the NBC show, but this time, it was not only fun but also outstanding, as Paul Rudd and Fallon did an excellent cover of the Styx song titled “Too Much Time on My Hands.”

Before interviewing Paul Rudd, the host presented their cover video of the Styx song, which has been actively shared by social media users since then. The cover video of the 80s band’s song could even soon become one of Fallon’s most watched videos on YouTube, as the video already has more than 2.6 million views.

And any Styx’s fan can tell that both Fallon and Paul Rudd did a really great job to truly recreate their favorite band’s popular song. In fact, it was close to pure perfection, as the two took care of even the tiniest details.

Some fans went so far as to compare the spoof video with the original music video by Styx. Among many things, Paul Rudd and Fallon’s cover video featured the same keyboard brand and the same antler lamp in the background in the scene with a woman in a yellow shirt. Moreover, Fallon and Paul Rudd even took their time to place pool balls in the same spots they appeared in the original video while the show’s stylists found very similar wristwatches.

After Fallon and Paul Rudd rolled out their outstanding cover of Styx’s song, they sat down to talk about the 47-year-old actor’s recent movie Captain America: Civil War, which opened last Thursday night.

In particular, Paul Rudd talked about why his character was integrated into the Captain America movie and what it means for future Marvel installments. Fallon even tricked the audience by introducing an exclusive clip from the latest Marvel movie, but instead it was their cover of the Styx’s song that was shown on the screen.

But even though the audience may have wanted to watch the music video cover once again, Fallon stopped the video and a real clip from the movie began playing on the screen. Fallon’s video cover with Paul Rudd is not the first time the host has recreated a video that went viral on the Internet.

In 2015, Fallon recreated the music video of Extreme’s “More Than Words” alongside Jack Black. Just like in the case with Paul Rudd, Fallon paid close attention to the tiniest of details to truly recreate the 90s song by Extreme.
