Missouri Man Allegedly Used Prosthetic Arm To Assault Police Officers

A Missouri man has been arrested after authorities in Fenton say he attacked one of their officers with a bizarre weapon-of-choice. CBS News reports that 28-year-old Joshua Stockinger faces charges associated with the downright weird incident.

The incident took place on May 7, at a Jim Butler Chevrolet car dealership. The Missouri man reportedly showed up at the car lot to return a rental car that he had kept long beyond his scheduled return date. According to the owner of the dealership, Stockinger was “agitated” when he arrived at the lot to return the vehicle. His level of agitation made employees at the dealership uncomfortable, so they asked him to leave the premises. They also called the police.

Things began to escalate when authorities arrived at the car dealership. KMOV News has released surveillance footage associated with the May 7 incident. The footage appears to completely back up claims made by authorities, that Joshua Stockinger lost his temper and attacked an officer. When the officer arrived, the Missouri man allegedly grabbed him by his neck, pushed him and then struck him over the head with his prosthetic arm. The alleged assault resulted in the officer needing medical attention. His injuries included a bruised eye and a head wound, among others. No reports are sharing whether or not the suspect suffered any injuries during the alleged assault.

This isn’t the first time someone has been assaulted with a medical device, such as a prosthetic. In 2014, a Massachusetts was arrested after she allegedly yanked the dentures out of a bartender’s mouth during a brawl. The woman also threw a bottle at the woman and then allegedly stole her teeth and fled from the scene. The reason why she did this was reportedly because she suspected that the female bartender had been having an affair with her husband — a claim which both parties deny. She was charged with assault and battery with a deadly weapon.

In 2013, a South Carolina man reportedly assaulted another man using the victim’s own prosthetic leg. One man was arrested for the alleged assault, but the victim claimed that a second man was present during the assault, and he may have held him down while he was being beaten with his prosthetic limb.

In 2015, a woman was convicted of sexual assault after she used a prosthetic penis to deceive a woman into having sex with her. The 25-year-old UK woman named Gayle Newland reportedly tricked a woman into a relationship for over two years while pretending to be a man named Kye. This bizarre relationship resulted in at least 10 different sexual encounters, during which the victim was blindfolded.

In this latest case, the Missouri man accused of using his prosthetic arm to assault an officer has been jailed. He has been charged with felony resisting arrest and assault on a law enforcement officer. No reports are indicating whether or not he is being held without bond, or if he has been released from jail since the incident. One thing is for certain, however, and that’s that this case has attracted a lot of media attention, due to the bizarre details of the alleged assault and what he chose as a weapon.
