Skai Jackson Shows The World How To Take Azealia Banks Down On Twitter
Fourteen-year-old Skai Jackson acted much wiser than her years earlier this week when she went after and took down rapper Azealia Banks. Banks had gone on a bit of a Twitter rampage, for reasons passing understanding, when Skai Jackson decided she would try to get her to “simmer down.” The Disney Channel star looked at first like she had bitten off more than she could chew as Azaelia Banks turned her rage on Jackson but soon after it turned out the younger star more than held her own.
The Twitter rampage was hardly the first time Banks has gotten into an argument with people on Twitter. The rapper has made a career out of making comments most people would rather she kept to herself. For the most part, the people she goes after tend to ignore her and let her go unchecked, but Skai Jackson decided it was time to give the performer a taste of her own medicine while doing it better.

According to Just Jared, The tete-a-tete between Skai Jackson and Azealia Banks started off with Jackson suggesting Banks “simmer down a little.” The rapper ratcheted up the tone instead, responding that Jackson needed to “grow some hips and start ur menses. Stay in a child’s place.” Instead of going away and licking her wounds, Skai Jackson fired back.
“When a no hip having 14 year old has more class than you. Worry about your career. Get one.”
The rapper then tried to take another tack, claiming the young actress’s mother had been “pimping her out to Disney” since Jackson was a little girl. She ended that Tweet with “bye,” apparently thinking she had won the short battle and would not be hearing from this particular adversary. It turns out Banks was a bit off on her assessment as to how complicated the debate would be, considering Jackson was nowhere near finished.
“I had a career before Disney and I’m sure I will after! And I know I won’t turn out like you bitter and miserable! Fix ur life.”
The back and forth went on like this for a little while longer with Banks attempting to throw the kitchen sink at Jackson as far as insults go. Every time the rapper tried to get under the skin of the young girl, that girl would only dodge the attack and fire one back, increasingly making it look as though Skai Jackson was the grizzled veteran and Azealia Banks was the young punk who didn’t know better when it came to carrying herself.
When Skai Jackson seemed to have won the argument, Banks started repeating the insult that her mom was doing the tweeting for her. Skai Jackson then appeared to finish the discussion with one final roundhouse kick to face as she told Banks to take her loss like a champ. When the smoke had cleared, the musician still took a few parting shots at Skai Jackson, but Twitter was pretty confident it knew who the winner of the brawl was.

For those who don’t know, Skai Jackson has indeed managed to make quite a career for herself on the Disney channel. She spent the last few years as Zuri Ross on Jessie. Skai Jackson has now taken that character to the newer offshoot, Bunk’d. If the way she handled herself on Twitter is any indication, the young actress is going to have plenty of success wherever she takes her talent in the future. On the other hand, Azaelia Banks might need to be more careful and not take on any more young stars like Skai Jackson.
