Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop Suggests Over-The-Top 24 Karat Gold Adult Toys, Are They Worth It?

Gwyneth Paltrow has a few recommendations when it comes to adult toys, and they’re anything but cheap. The actress’s website, Goop, recently shared a long list of adult toys that went beyond the basics. While some might enjoy the idea of owning real gold playthings, some of the recommendations topped $15,000, leading many to wonder if they are worth the high price tag.

According to Us Weekly Magazine, Paltrow released the recommendations on Goop in a list titled the “Not So Basic Sex Toys.” True to its name, the list featured some over-the-top adult toys and outrageous playthings.

“Sex Toys have long since graduated from the floppy rubber things you hide in your bedside table to beautiful works of interactive art,” the recommendation read. “Below, a few of our favorites for all scenarios.”

The most expensive and outlandish item on the list included an apparatus made out of 24-karat gold. This toy is manufactured by LELO INEZ and comes in at a whopping $15,000 a piece. Naturally, the company promises to discreetly ship the order while the product comes with a 10-year guarantee. Considering the hefty price tag, one can only hope that it lasts that long.

According to E! Online, the toy does come in two versions: gold and stainless steel. Luckily, the stainless steel version is significantly less — only $7,900 — though it is still out of the price range of many people, especially for an adult plaything.

Apart from the $15,000 gold toy, the list also included a whip from Agent Provocateur. The whip costs considerably less than the gold toy, though the price is still high at $535.

“So pretty, you’ll be tempted to leave it out,” the caption reads.

If a $535 whip is out of your price range, then Goop has you covered with a vibrating necklace. The Kiki de Montparnasse is a $395 Droplet Necklace that has a variety of interesting uses.

“A discreet vibrating necklace that turns into clamps,” the item description reveals.

If you are looking for a more affordable toy, then Goop recommends a waterproof adult toy from Jimmyjane Form. This version costs $149, which is much more reasonable than the necklace or some of the other playthings on the list.

Fortunately, for those unwilling to spend so much money on an adult toy, Goop did offer a starter kit at an extremely low price. In fact, the Fetish Fantasy Gold Beginner’s Fantasy Kit is only $37.99 and includes all the right toys to get anyone started in BDSM. The kit includes a paddle, leather tickler, handcuffs, and a blindfold.

In total, the entire list of toys under Goop’s recommendation comes in at a staggering $17,560. Of course, you don’t need that kind of money to get into the game. In fact, Goop does allow fans to download a seductive card game on its site, Weapons of Mass Seduction. The game is free to download and play.

This is not the first time Paltrow has received backlash for her outlandish Goop lists. In 2015, the actress recommended a vagina steam for $50 at the Tikkun Spa in Los Angeles. The recommendation was part of a larger list that included colonics, detoxes, and saunas.

According to NY Daily News, Paltrow’s latest foray into adult toys is not shocking, despite the high prices. In fact, Paltrow has a history of promoting expensive products on her website, many of which are well outside the price range of the average person.

However, like the gold toy, many of the products are fun to look at and imagine buying if money was not an issue. This includes a blanket worth $900, a smoothie around $200, and 18-karat gold dumbbells for $125,000.
