Piers Morgan Calls Todd Akin A ‘Gutless Little Twerp’

Republican Senate candidate Todd Akin was supposed to appear on Piers Morgan Tonight, but he apparently got a little camera shy before last night’s show. After outraging the American public by saying that “legitimate rape” rarely resulted in pregnancy, Akin decided to cancel his interview with Piers Morgan.

That, according to Morgan, makes him a “gutless little twerp.”

Morgan hosted his show last night next to an empty chair.

Morgan said:

“Congressman, you have an open invitation to join me in that chair whenever you feel up to it…. If you don’t keep your promise to appear on the show, then you are what we would call in Britain a gutless little twerp.”

Akin tried to apologize after making his remark, saying that it was clear that he “misspoke” and that he has “deep empathy” for any woman who gets raped or abused.

Akin said:

“In reviewing my off-the-cuff remarks, it’s clear that I misspoke in this interview and it does not reflect the deep empathy I hold for the thousands of women who are raped and abused every year.”

Still, several people are calling for Todd Akin to pull out of the senate race.

But that probably isn’t going to happen.

Akin released a new campaign ad today, apologizing for his statements and asking for forgiveness.

    Akin is far more than a gutless little twerp. Piers – He is what we call in the United States, a dipshit narrow minded bigot that's only interest is preserving his job and his social position. And Akin…… you lost even if you do keep your BS job. Fucking loser.

    Akin makes one mistake and told to drop out, while most make a dozen mistakes and told forgive them. But Todd Akin that didn’t rape is worse than the rapist by many.The Republicans are lately being guilty of hypocrisy. Anyone casting the first stone?

    People are swayed by what the media says and for the GOP to not have a backbone speaks volumes, and can be seen as worse than the Democrats. The GOP burned many republicans by pushing for the most far left candidate and they are burning the rest of their base to not be united like the Democrats.
