Megyn Kelly Interview With Donald Trump: Get A Sneak Peek Of ‘Megyn Kelly Presents’

A sneak peek of Megyn Kelly interviewing Donald Trump for her May 17 special on Fox has been released. Megyn Kelly Presents will air next Tuesday night, a highly anticipated special that has Kelly facing off with her public nemesis of nine months, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee.

Megyn tweeted a preview of her interview segment with Trump late Monday night.

Kelly unintentionally got on Trump’s bad side when she questioned him in the first GOP presidential debate last August about his treatment of women. The billionaire viewed Kelly’s questioning as a swipe at him and took his unvarnished anger onto Twitter, where he insulted her journalism skills and called her a “bimbo.”

The Fox News host has remained largely above the fray in terms of reacting to Trump’s rants lodged against her. In early April, however, Kelly reached out to Trump. She appeared on Live! With Kelly and Michael Monday morning and shared that she’d wanted to talk with Donald Trump for a long time, but his rage towards her was a deterrent. Not missing her chance, Megyn took action last month when there was a “lull” in the ongoing feud. Her instincts proved correct when Trump responded in kind to her bold gesture.

Megyn Kelly headed over to Trump Tower, where she met the real estate mogul face-to-face. Viewers will get a chance to see what was said in an exclusive interview set to air on May 17.

In the sneak peek glimpse of Megyn Kelly Presents, the host asks Trump if his anger was “real” or if it was “strategy.”

Trump tells Megyn that he’s a “real” person.

“I’m a real person and don’t say, ‘Oh, gee, I’m angry tonight, but tomorrow you’re my best friend,'” Trump answered.

“See, I do have a theory… and this could happen again with us… I mean it could be… even doing this particular interview. I have great respect for you that you were able to call me and say, ‘Let’s get together and let’s talk,'” Trump continued, adding, “Me, I would not have done that. I don’t say that as a positive. I think it’s a negative for me. And you walk into Trump Tower… and you didn’t have a neutral side, or like over at Fox or something. That would have been a whole different thing and I wouldn’t have done it.”

Not straying from his principles, Trump let Kelly know that even though they convened for the interview, it was still very possible their feud could reignite again. It hinged on what might rock him again.

As Megyn has expressed, she asked Trump about calling women derogatory names because Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton will be hitting him with the same questions.

The presumptive Republican nominee admits, however, that he wouldn’t have reached out to Kelly. He identifies that as a weakness in himself, which is rare for the world to see in Donald Trump. His comments, tweets, and speeches oftentimes hit a nerve, but he never apologizes for who he is.

Will Donald Trump and Megyn Kelly bury the hatchet in this interview? If they do, how long will the peace between them last? Trump has been an outspoken critic of Kelly since he’s entered the presidential race. Archive footage has shown Trump praising Kelly for her journalism and incredible talent.
