Cher Lloyd, Former ‘X Factor’ Contestant, Hit With A Bottle Of Urine

Cher Lloyd, former contestant on the popular talent program The X Factor, was struck with a bottle of urine while performing at the V Festival in Hylands Park, according to The Huffington Post. To add salt to this very bizarre wound, Lloyd was also booed offstage by concertgoers. That’s not the sort of impression any up-and-coming singer wants to make.

“It’s hard enough being up here, but it’s not nice having bottles of piss chucked at you,” Lloyd reportedly told the crowd. Given how things played out for the singer, I don’t think they cared.

Once the infamous set was said and done, Cher took to Twitter to express her thoughts and feelings about this embarrassing scenario. “Thank you so much for all the nice messages, shame that a couple of people had to ruin it,” she wrote. “Unfortunately a glass bottle got thrown at me on stage. Tomorrow is another day.”

Lloyd, who finished fourth on the seventh season of Simon Cowell’s singing competition The X Factor, debuted her single Swagger Jagger in June of 2011. It didn’t take very long for the negative reviews to pop up. In fact, the hatred surrounding the young singer almost forced Lloyd to turn her back on her career forever.

“I know people think I’m a b— but they don’t realize I put on a massive front,” she explained to the Daily Star in October of last year. “When I go home and close the door I break down, phone my mum and dad and cry. I got to the point when I thought, ‘Why am I doing this?’ ”

“I think I need to let people know I’m not as strong as I pretend to be,” she added. “I put up a big barrier because I don’t want people to think I’m having a breakdown or that I can’t handle the pressure.”

Regardless of how people may feel about Cher Lloyd, I don’t think any entertainer deserves to be assaulted with a bottle of urine. The video of the X Factor contestant’s performance has been embedded below.
