While most kids would kill for a simple 20 inch television to call there own, Patti Deni wanted more for her son, installing a 98 inch display in his bedroom. While that would have been enough to award her the “cool mom of the year” award she took it an extreme step further.
Patti installed the display above her sons bed, a feat that forced her to reinforce and reframe the ceiling before installation.
The setup includes an NEC projector, draper projection mirrors and the gigantic StarGlas60 display that offers HD viewing from almost anywhere in the room. [via SlipperyBrick]

Stupid, the TV was not designed to hang like this. All the internal components are now being forced out of the screen and not hanging vertically on the screws . He is someday going to wear the horizontal screen on his head. I hope it was worth it. Would'nt a concealed wall unit with remote opening be a better and safer option.

no, this isn't mother of the year material. how is encouraging a child to stay in bed and watch TV / play games, a good thing?

Yep Bob I agree with you. This is the ultimate guide to abuse and spoiling your child, and also breeding a new generation of spoiled, selfish, disconnected, cold, desensitized, anti-social brats. Having said that, this article didn't indicate if the son is healthy and decadently spolit or permanently bedridden due to disability. Will give the benefit of the doubt.
