Justin Bieber Sobs On Stage In Mid-Show Breakdown, Reveals Love For Selena Gomez Amid New Tattoo Backlash [Photos]

Justin Bieber is being described as sobbing just like a “baby” amid his emotional rendition of his song “Purpose.” The breakdown occurred when Bieber was giving a concert at Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Arena on Saturday, according to Us Weekly.

The lyrics to “Purpose” focus on Justin’s relationship with God. His tears occurred when he was seated on the ground close to the front of the stage singing. Fans sought to console Bieber, letting him know that his Beliebers would always be there.

Prior to his Philadelphia emotional breakdown, Justin visited NYC’s West 4th Tattoo Parlor for an unanticipated new face tattoo, which he showed off on social media.

Jonboy, a renowned as a tattoo artist, revealed that the tiny cross by the corner of his eye has special meaning for Bieber.

“It represents his journey in finding purpose with God.”

But was it the meaning of the song or something else that caused him to cry on stage?

The 22-year-old “Sorry” singer has shown his emotions on stage before. In November, he became emotional when he performed at the Los Angeles Staples Center to cheer the release of his Purpose album, and in August, he stunned the crowd by crying during his performance of “What Do You Mean” for the 2015 VMAs.

And when it comes to his new face tattoo, some fans are crying too.

Others are just bewildered, questioning the purpose of putting a tattoo on his face in contrast to his existing body art arrayed all over other body parts.

But a new photo’s caption offers a hint as to why he chose to put that tattoo near his eyes.

“Eyes are the window to the soul,” wrote Bieber for the caption of his close-up.

This isn’t the first time that Bieber has faced a backlash over his fashion choices, pointed out the New York Post.

Prior to shaving off his dreadlocks recently, Justin was criticized but fought back.

“It’s just my hair,” he declared.

At one point in his hair history, Bieber even got a Hailey Baldwin-inspired ‘do that resulted in accusations of cultural misappropriation.

“Hailey made me get corn rows like an absolute douche bag, these will be off tomorrow trust me Danny,” wrote Bieber for the caption.

And when it comes to Baldwin, although Justin has the supermodel listed on his girlfriend experience resume, it’s Selena Gomez for whom he still longs, according to an insider who revealed to Hollywood Life that his on-and-off girlfriend’s new song makes Bieber want her even more.

“[Selena] played ‘Feel Me’ for [Justin] before she ever performed it, and he was well aware of all the details from it,” revealed the source. “He likes it, especially since it is about him.”

Although it makes their relationship status even more unclear, the new love song also has touched Bieber’s heart, according to the insider.

“[The song] makes him want her again. It is the never ending back and forth that will be their relationship forever. They just can’t get over each other.”

But while Justin can’t let go of his love for his former girlfriend, what does her new song really reveal about her feelings? ET noted that the lyrics of “Feel Me” do offer hints about their relationship, resulting in speculation among some fans as to whether it contains a secret message for Bieber.

“No one loves you like I love you / I never cheated, never lied. I never put no one above you / I gave you space and time / And now you’re telling me you miss me / And I’m still on your mind / We were one in a million / Our love is hard to find.”

As for the “other woman” in Justin’s life, he gave her a shout-out on Mother’s Day.

Pattie Mallette, who is his mother, told fans that her son called to celebrate the holiday, reported Us Weekly.

“Yes @justinbieber was a good boy and called to wish me Happy Mother’s Day!” the 40-year-old tweeted on Sunday. “I love that y’all are so concerned!! xoxo.”

In addition, during one of his concerts, Bieber requested that the crowd yell “Aloha, Pattie!” as he blew a kiss.
