How Did Vicki Gunvalson Celebrate Mother’s Day After Losing Her Mother Last Year?
Vicki Gunvalson lost her mother suddenly while filming the previous season of The Real Housewives of Orange County. While going through the cancer drama with Brooks Ayers, she suddenly had to deal with the loss of her mother.
As Gunvalson explained on the show, she didn’t know what had happened to her mother. It could have been a heart attack or an aneurysm, but something took her fast, and she didn’t suffer. But Vicki suffered for a long time, and she really struggled with moving on without her mother. So one can imagine that the pain is a bit more on Mother’s Day.
According to a new Instagram post, Vicki Gunvalson remembered her mother this weekend as she celebrated Mother’s Day. She got flowers from her own daughter, Briana Culberson, who recently moved back to Orange County. The two went out to dinner with some friends, but Gunvalson had to remember her own mother as well yesterday.
“To the most incredible mother our family could have asked for. I am the woman I am today because of you. I miss you so much and love you even more. #inheaven,” Vicki Gunvalson revealed on Instagram while sharing a picture of her mother.

“What a beautiful bouquet of flowers Briana sent me. Another great job by Natural Charms #Amazingflowers #Blessed #MothersDay #Imissmy mom,” Vicki added in a second Instagram post, sharing that she had gotten flowers from her own daughter.
Vicki has been busy filming the new season of The Real Housewives of Orange County even though some people didn’t want to film with her. Many of her co-stars, including Shannon Beador, Tamra Judge, and Meghan King Edmonds, expressed a dislike for Vicki. They didn’t trust her because they felt that she may have been lying about Brooks Ayers’ cancer. Vicki kept talking about the cancer as if he was really sick, so when he was caught in a lie, her co-stars thought she had been lying too.
And Vicki faced much criticism from viewers after Brooks’ cancer scandal was revealed. And she also faced some criticism from a previous Real Housewives of Orange County star, Gretchen Rossi, who filmed the show with a cancer-sick partner. When Gretchen first joined The Real Housewives of Orange County, she was engaged to an older man named Jeff who was sadly battling cancer. Vicki Gunvalson had an opinion about Gretchen filming a reality show with a sick partner, so when she did the same thing, Gretchen let her thoughts be known.

“I really just told her I felt bad for her, that’s the bottom line,” Gretchen explained about the situation with Vicki Gunvalson, adding, “I felt bad that the women attacked her as much as they did. I know what that feels like. It’s a horrible feeling. And from my perspective, the only thing she really did wrong was fall in love with a man — and that’s what I felt happened to me, too. I felt like everyone was harping on me because of the man that I fell in love with. It’s really not fair, and if people are your friends they support you no matter what. I don’t know if Vicki knew or not about the situation, but from what she’s told me she didn’t. So as a friend, you have to believe that person.”
The two have supposedly made peace, but it would be interesting to see Rossi return to the show and deal with the past again. However, Rossi has expressed that she’s doing just fine without The Real Housewives of Orange County in her life. Plus, Vicki may not like the idea of bringing the past into her life.
