Idris Elba Puts On A Love Fest With Ex-Wife Naiyana Garth At BAFTAs

Idris Elba is far from being a single man. The Pacific Rim actor was spotted with make-up artist Naiyana Garth as they graced the British Academy Television Awards last Sunday.

The actor, who was rumored to have separated from the mother of his 23-month-old child named Winston back in February, looked dapper during the red carpet event. He was wearing a black tuxedo that he accessorized with a black bow tie along with a white pocket scarf.

However, Idris Elba’s presence at the awards show was even more interesting as he put on a love fest with the 28-year-old mother of his son.

Garth, on the other hand, looked stunning in plunging navy blue gown. The ensemble also had a sheer and metallic gold details.

She kept her make-up simple as she put on nude tones. Her hair was styled with beach waves.

The public appearance has somewhat shut down the talks that they have ended their relationship. Idris Elba and his lady love did not go short of putting on an affectionate display. They could not get their hands off each other as they walked through London’s Royal Festival Hall.

In one picture, the actor had his arms behind the make-up artist’s back. Garth also held on to Idris Elba’s back. The No Good Deed star lovingly gazed at the mother of his child while she was beaming with a smile.

Idris Elba was nominated for the Best Actor Award category but lost to Mark Rylance for the latter’s role in Wolf Hall. Before the award was given, Elba was timid about the possibility of winning as he lost his voice and would not have been able to say much.

“Unfortunately, I have lost my voice over the last two days so I’m a bit nervous if I did win, I won’t have much to say,” Idris Elba was quoted as saying.

Even while he was handing out the award for Best Comedy Performance by a Female Actress, the actor was quite defensive about his voice.

“I’ve lost my voice so bear with me, I’m not drunk I promise,” he said.

Idris Elba and Naiyana Garth started dating in 2013. A few months after that, they welcomed a child together.

The rumors that they had ended their relationship begun when the actor walked the red carpet of the British Film Awards all by himself. He also did not mention his partner when he accepted the award as Best Actor for his portrayal in Beasts of No Nation.

Idris Alba was also spotted with supermodel Naomi Campbell while they were leaving a club.

Amid talks of separation, Idris Elba was rumored to have moved out of the house he shared with Naiyana Garth. The family home was located in South-West London. From there, he was said to have moved to a rented flat just nearby.

A source even confirmed the separation saying, “They’ve kept it very quiet…. It’s very sad that this has happened while Idris is experiencing the highest points of his professional career and they can’t celebrate it with each other.”

However, there was never a confirmation about the split from the parties involved.

The English actor rose to fame in HBO series The Wire, where he played the role of drug Baron Russell “Stringer” Bell. Idris Elba then went on to play the role of Detective John Luther and Nelson Mandela in the biographical film Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom.

Meanwhile, Idris Elba is reportedly starring alongside Jessica Chastain in the movie Molly’s Game. He is set to play the role of a defense lawyer in the film from the Olympic skier’s memoirs.

“The casting of Jessica and Idris in the two lead roles is any filmmaker’s dream come true,” said Aaron Sorkin, who will be directing the movie.

“They’re two of the greatest actors of their generation, paired for the first time, and their chemistry will be electric.”
