Halo 5 DLC: ‘Memories of Reach’ For ‘Guardians’ Arriving This May

The sixth Halo 5 DLC pack is set to arrive this month. According to GameSpot, the upcoming update for Halo 5: Guardians called Memories of Reach brings in new features and a number of tweaks.

GameRant noted that unlike most of the downloadable content released for games, Halo 5 DLC packs are made available to gamers for free, mainly because of the significant earnings made through microtransactions launched together with Halo 5: Guardians. All the Halo 5’s multiplayer contents will be unleashed for free by 343 Industries, and players will not be required to pay for it if they do not desire to do so. However, it may take months for gamers to unlock all these items without using some extra money.

Halo Waypoint, the official website of the game, provided details about the latest Halo 5 DLC to come to the first-person shooter game. Accordingly, there will be a new feature called Matchmaking Search Preferences which will be accessible from the Arena and Warzone playlist selection screens. This new game feature gives gamers the opportunity to pick from various search preferences available, which are Balanced, Focused, and Expanded.

Moreover, there will also be a new Post Game Carnage Report (PGCR) to expect upon the release of the sixth Halo 5 DLC pack. The new PGCR will provide an overview of all the rewards acquired by players in the match. It will also show up to three Rare and Legendary Medals. “Medals come in the same flavors as REQs,” the post shared, further adding that players also have the ability to look at other players’ top medals through the new PGCR. Halo Waypoint noted the following.

“Since the very first neighborhood Halo matches, the Post Game Carnage Report has been a destination for post-match debriefing, trash talk, laughs, recounting epic moments, and tallying career-high statistics. Over the years, the PGCR has evolved, and Halo 5’s PGCR has a variety of changes on the way based on your feedback.”

GameRant shared part of the major additions coming to the game via the Halo 5 DLC are new armor sets that are inspired by main characters from Halo: Reach. The post noted that the new requisitions are Intruder (Kat), Indomitable (Jorge), Vigilant (Jun), and Wrath (Emile).

Infection, a zombie-themed game mode for Halo 5, is also part of the soon-to-be-released DLC. There will also be a new Arena map called Stasis. Halo Waypoint said that gamers will have the chance to see the new world in action during the live streaming that is scheduled to take place on May 11, 3 p.m. PT. The show will feature gameplay and community highlights. There will also be special guests arriving at the live stream event.

After the release of Memories of Reach DLC for Halo 5: Guardians, avid fans can look forward to other free game updates scheduled for release later this year and in 2017. The Battle of Shadow and Light is arriving in November while Cartographer’s Gift is scheduled for December. Next year, the free Halo 5 updates scheduled for launch are Infinity Armor, Hammer Storm, and Ghosts of Meridian.

Halo 5: Guardians is available for Xbox One. Developed by 343 Industries and published by Microsoft Studios, this first-person shooter video game initially hit the shelves in October 2015. The Requisition or REQ System is a new offering brought by the game’s 5th installment where gamers are rewarded for the time they spend in Guardian’s multiplayer modes. “Players will earn REQ Points after each match in Arena or Warzone which can then be used to purchase REQ Packs containing a variety of REQ items in the form of unlockable weapons, armors, vehicles, stances, assassinations, and more,” the official site of COD explained.
