WWE News: Backstage Update On Vince McMahon And Colin Cassady, Push Coming For Big Cass?

Colin Cassady and Enzo Amore have come on strong. Fans of the pair feel that they have been ready for the main roster for some time, and the fact that they finally got a call-up is fantastic to see. Enzo’s great mic ability combined with the size and presence of Big Cass made the two a must-see tag team that not only could become the most popular tag team in WWE, but one that could change how we see tag teams for a while.

Most people expect to see tag teams break apart at some point. However, Enzo and Cass have been together for about three years now and have a friendship that dates back to before WWE. Naturally, most assume the team may never truly break up. In fact, some believe that the two are destined to remain together for some time. This could be big for Colin Cassady, and for one major reason. Many think he will be a big star on his own as his size makes people think he will get a chance at some singles titles.

Having a mic worker like Enzo Amore to help him as a manager could very well help him get over far more than people consider. While tag team gold is currently the prize both men are wanting to go after, other singles titles are by no means out of their eyesight either. Perhaps it could even come to that sooner than people think. According to Daily Wrestling News, to literally no one’s surprise, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon is said to be very high on Colin Cassady right now.

Of course, it has been noted in the past that McMahon liked Big Cass but it is coming up a bit more lately. A source for DWN commented he hoped for Cass being booked strong on his own, but impressing WWE officials is also not a bad thing for Enzo Amore. Vince is said to be a fan of Amore’s as well. Clearly Enzo is out with a concussion right now, and is not expected back until late May at the earliest, but it could be a bit longer.

This is really the perfect time for WWE to test the waters with Big Cass. If he does well, there could be more done with him as a singles worker in the future. Enzo becoming his manager has been discussed in the past, but WWE sees money in the pair as a tag team too. Therefore, we should not expect Cassady to go into the singles role at any point soon.

There has been a rumor going around regarding a name change for Cassady as well. Some believe he could end up being called Colin Cass. Vince McMahon as seemingly gone back and forth on using Big Cass or simply Colin Cassady, mainly due to the fact that they don’t want to have another name that resembles that of someone such as Big E.

As for Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady as a team, it looks very likely that they will go after The New Day and the WWE Tag Team Titles whenever Enzo is healthy enough to return. However, some speculate that WWE may hold off on this rivalry until WWE SummerSlam. The timing of the rivalry truly depends on how Enzo heals up. The original plan for the duo was to lose to Aiden English and Simon Gotch at WWE Payback due to an interference by The Dudley Boyz. Of course the run-in never had a chance to happen due to Enzo’s injury.

This means that WWE could go back to this rivalry whenever Enzo comes back. If Enzo is back before WWE Battleground, WWE will try to most likely have these two teams go at it then and move on from it right after. New Day is expected to retain leading up to SummerSlam, mainly because Vince is not high on English and Gotch. There are also no other tag teams WWE wants New Day to lose to other than Enzo and Cass right now. So expect the two teams to square off on WWE’s second biggest event of the year.
