Tyra Banks Celebrates First Mother’s Day As A Mom With Heartwarming Instagram Photo of Son, York

Tyra Banks celebrated her first Mother’s Day as a mom and shared a heartwarming picture with her fans on Instagram to commemorate the occasion, E! Online reports. In the photo, Tyra is holding her son, York Asla, alongside her own mother.

“I’m hearing, ‘Happy Mother’s Day’ and I can’t believe how lucky I am!” she wrote. “Of all the fashionable hats I wear, I love being a #mother the most. #HappyMothersDay from me and my mama to all the wonderful women of the world!”

Tyra’s baby was born via a surrogate and is the first child for both Tyra and her partner, photographer Erik Asla. She told the world about the baby’s birth in January of this year.

Last year on her talk show, The FAB Life, Tyra confessed that she had been battling infertility for years which led her to try IVF treatments.

Chrissy Teigen, Tyra’s FAB Life co-host had admitted that she and husband John Legend were struggling to conceive at the time.

That’s when Tyra spoke up to dish some serious truth about her infertility problems, E! Online reports.

“I want to co-sign what Chrissy is saying and say ‘You have no idea what people are going through,'” she said as she choked back tears. “Why am I crying? You just have no idea what people are going through, so when you ask Chrissy that or me that or anybody that, it is none of your frigging business, okay?”

Tyra also had some strong words for people who love to pry and badger women about pregnancy.

“And for any women, it is none of your business what somebody is going through,” the former supermodel added. “Whether they want to have a child or don’t ever want to have a child or may have a child on the way, it’s none of your business, okay? Until somebody wants to make it your business.”

After she and Teigen embraced, Tyra went on to describe what she was going through with the IVF treatments.

“We’re kind of going through this similar thing with IVF,” she said to Teigen. “And, you know, putting needles in your tummy every day and having to come to work and smile when you feel like you want to throw up and lay down…I can’t believe I’m saying this right now.”

Tyra ended the very emotional conversation with an appeal to women to be more supportive of one another.

“Working women, you know, have respect for that working woman that might not want a child now, and let’s not attack each other and feel like, ‘Oh, you’re doing that but you need to do this,’ and just remember, you never, ever know what somebody is going through. Okay?”

Chrissy Teigen announced that she was pregnant a couple of months after her confession on FAB Life. Teigen and John Legend welcomed their first child named Luna Simone Stephens into the world on April 14.

So, after all of the tears they shed on the FAB Life, both Tyra Banks and Chrissy Teigen are celebrating their first Mother’s Day today as moms.

Us Weekly reports that John Legend wrote a sweet tribute to his wife to show his appreciation on this special day.

“To my wonderful wife, @chrissyteigen. Luna and I are so lucky to have you in our lives,” Legend wrote in the caption of an Instagram pic of Luna wearing a onesie with “Happy 1st Mother’s Day written on it. “If our daughter can be even half as awesome as you, I will be so happy and proud. Happy 1st Mother’s Day!”

Tyra Banks and Chrissy Teigen’s Fab Life was canceled in January of this year, Page Six reported at the time. The show had been sailing through choppy waters from the start. In addition to poor ratings, Tyra quit the show in November of last year after complaints that she did not like the direction Fab Life was taking.

There were also rumors that Banks and Teigen did not get along, a rumor that Chrissy denied.

“I dunno if you guys know how bosses work but if Tyra and I were fighting as hard as you’re saying, I would be the one off the show,” she tweeted at the time of Tyra’s departure.
