Kelly Ripa To Announce New Co-Host In September
Kelly Ripa is about to get a new co-host.
Kelly Ripa has shared the stage on Live! With Kelly with a variety of celebrities since Regis Philbin announced his retirement in 2010 and now she’s ready to name a permanent host.
So who’s the new co-host? ABC and Ripa are going to keep that a secret for the next few weeks. According to the Washington Post, Ripa will make the announcement on September 4th during the second episode of the show’s new season.
The Chicago Tribune reports that Ripa will host the first episode of the new season by herself. On September 4th, her new co-host will join her as they talk to Claire Danes and American Idol winner Phillip Phillips.
Ripa has hosted Live! With Kelly with 59 different people since Regis left the show. Jerry Seinfeld, Seth Meyers, and Neil Patrick Harris have all sat in the co-host chair over the last year. Meyers was reportedly at the top of the list last month but the SNL member said that the rumors weren’t true.
Michael Strahan and Ripa’s husband Mark Consuelos have also been rumored for the job.

They need someone who was a gentleman like Regis. Since Regis left I don't like Kelly at all honestly. Plus the show needs to either ger rid of Michael Gelman or cancel the show or bring Regis back..period.

Howie Mandel. They reminded me of fun/ good times the show projected a few years back. Light hearted with audience and guest. Lots of laughter.. They seemed like the perfect team.
