Ronda Rousey is currently the hottest name in the fighting world. She recently posed nude in ESPN’s Body Issue, picked a fight with Kim Kardashian, and last weekend she successfully defended the women’s bantamweight championship against Sarah Kaufman. The Strikeforce fighter’s fame could rise even higher if she lands a spot on The Ultimate Fighter opposite her rival Miesha Tate.

Rousey hasn’t expressed any interest in the idea yet but Tate said that she would be up for a rematch on the reality TV show.

At the moment, having Rousey and Tate on the reality show is just an idea. Tate told MMA Weekly Radio that it was a great idea and that she’d love to settle some unfinished business that she has with Rousey.

Tate said:

“I love it… I think that would be the fight to put on if they were going to do that. It doesn’t get any better than Ronda and I; two ladies who honestly have a rival between each other…. I feel like there’s unfinished business. I have to hold myself accountable. I think I allowed myself to be mentally beat before I came through the cage…. I was confident that I was going to win the fight, maybe too confident, but I wasn’t in the right mindset. I should have been more conscious of what was going on and not paid as much attention to promotion and things like that. I realize that now.”

Ronda Rousey’s star is on the rise but there is still some debate about whether or not female fighting can draw in the crowds. Bleacher Report published an interesting article today talking about how Rousey has became an important name among fighting enthusiasts, but casual viewers still don’t care about a female fight.

“Ronda Rousey is not a star, not yet. Rousey is a myth, her success illusory, the result of a feedback loop that deafens us to opinions outside our tight circle. Ronda Rousey is a product of the bubble. And, at Bleacher Report at least, the bubble has burst.”

Yahoo reports that all StrikeForce Fighters are currently under contact so women’s fighting probably won’t be the focus of the upcoming season. But what about next year?

Tate says she’s up to the challenge.

“I think it would be a huge selling point and a huge hit. Ronda knows how to talk trash, and hype things and whatnot, and I’d just be keeping it cool and have fun. I think we play well off of each other. Out of any women’s mixed martial arts fight that’s happened before, we set the bar higher. I think there wouldn’t be two better females to host an Ultimate Fighting reality show.”
