Justin Timberlake Confirms New Album Is ‘Definitely’ Being Worked On

There’s good news for fans who have been crying a river to hear more Justin Timberlake.

According to Vanity Fair, J.T. reported in an interview with 97.1 AMP Radio Friday that he is “definitely” working on a new album. Discussion came about while doing the radio interview for his recent musical venture. “Can’t Stop The Feeling” is a single that Timberlake worked on for the soundtrack of the movie Trolls. Recently reported by the Inquisitr, the song is bringing fun back to music with the help of fellow artists.

Justin Timberlake’s last album, The 20/20 Experience and The 20/20 Experience: 2 of 2, dropped back in 2013. From N’Sync to his own solo career, Justin has constantly set the bar even higher when he pursues a new project. This is evidenced by his “Suit & Tie” approach, a song that features the 46-year-old rapper from Brooklyn Jay Z. Justin has gone from boy to man with his albums, and one can only wonder what else is up the sleeve of the “It’s Gonna Be May” meme originator.

Fans of Justin Timberlake will have to wait for further news, however. While he confirmed on the radio interview that he was working on an album, he made no mention of when it was going to be released. It’s certainly understandable, as he stepped into the shoes of fatherhood not long ago when his son Silas Randall Timberlake was born. It was reported by People that Justin even made comment during the Carson Daly radio interview about his entrance into fatherhood.

“Here’s what I’ll say – all I know is I don’t know what the hell I did before. It’s an extremely humbling experience, and I’ve never had more poop on my person!” said Timberlake. “I was talking with someone the other day and they were like, ‘Well, I have a dog!'”

As for his sound, Justin Timberlake has appealed to many an audience with the transition from N’Sync to flying solo. While it appears that he has always been grounded in the pop genre, fans may be surprised at a tease that Timberlake mentioned recently.

“Growing up in Tennessee – very central of the country – Memphis is known as being the birthplace of rock and roll, but also the home of the blues, but Nashville’s right down the street so there’s a lot of country music,” he teased.

Could this be some indication that Justin Timberlake will be changing the style of his music? It’s not unheard of that artists would make this move, though some could be considered hit or miss. Usher is a prime example of this, gravitating more toward pop after being heavily rooted in R&B. This small teaser may leave fans wondering if the “Bye, Bye, Bye” singer’s sound will change with the coming of his new album, but for now all that can be said is that he is steadily spending time on the new project and balancing family time and other things somewhere between.

If “Can’t Stop The Feeling” is any indication, Justin is working hard to mix music and movies. People magazine reported that Justin wants to mix the two, having this to say.

“I have always envisioned bringing the two worlds of film and music together for one epic event. I couldn’t be more excited that they will collide,” Justin stated in a press release. “The film is very special, the music is going to be very special and I can’t wait for everyone to experience it all.”
