Selena Gomez Skipped ‘Purpose’ Show, Won’t Sing Justin Bieber Song During ‘Revival’ Tour

Selena Gomez may be over Justin Bieber. In addition to skipping his Purpose Tour concert in New York City, she won’t be singing her hit Bieber-inspired song, “The Heart Wants What it Wants,” during her upcoming Revival tour.

Although Selena Gomez was reportedly in New York City earlier this week, she didn’t attend any of Bieber’s shows in Brooklyn. Instead, the 23-year-old singer kept her distance from her ex-boyfriend throughout her time in the Big Apple.

While Selena Gomez and Bieber are known for their on-and-off tendencies, they appear to be completely off just weeks after exchanging a couple of “likes” on Instagram.

“Justin played in Brooklyn on May 4 and May 5, so it would’ve been a good opportunity for [Selena Gomez] to stick around the Big Apple so she could go and show support,” Hollywood Life noted on May 6. “She already attended one of his Staples Center shows in Los Angeles back in March, so it would’ve made sense for her to do so again with the convenient timing. However, [Selena Gomez] is prepping for her very own summer stint on the road.”

Selena Gomez supported Bieber in Los Angeles, but when it comes to this particular week, the songstress is extremely busy. Not only is she preparing for opening night in Las Vegas later today, she also attended the Met Gala on Monday night and proving just how busy she was, she didn’t even bother to go to any of the event’s after parties.

Meanwhile, she recently explained why she will not be singing “The Heart Wants What it Wants” during her Revival Tour.

“There are things that I can’t do. I won’t be performing this on this tour because I don’t want to,” Selena Gomez explained to Entertainment Weekly on May 5. “It’s like when you smell a scent and it takes you back to a place that maybe wasn’t the best place. That stuff is a little bit more difficult.”

Selena Gomez released “The Heart Wants What it Wants” in 2014, just a couple of years after she and Bieber called off their 2-year relationship. Below are a few of the songs’ lyrics.

“The bed’s getting cold and you’re not here

Selena Gomez performed the song for the first time at the 2014 American Music Awards. During her appearance, Selena Gomez appeared to be choking back tears as she sang the heartfelt track about her ex-boyfriend.

Selena Gomez and Bieber began dating in 2012 and called it quits 2 years later. However, ever since their breakup, they have been frequently spotted together and are often faced with rumors of reconciliation. Most recently, Selena Gomez was featured in a throwback photo, which Bieber shared on Instagram. The photo, which has since become the “most liked” photo on Instagram, featured Selena Gomez and Bieber kissing one another in a pool.

In the caption of the photo, Bieber wrote, “Feels.”

Days later, Selena Gomez turned up at his L.A. concert at the Staples Center; but, unfortunately for Jelena fans, the couple has not been spotted together at all in the weeks since.
