San Francisco Marathon Results: Cook and Shibui Take Line Honors


The San Francisco Marathon has been run for another year with Andrew Cook and Yoko Shibui taking line honors.

28 year old Texas native Andrew Cook, a previous qualifier for the US Olympic trials won his third San Francisco Marathon, clocking 2:26:32. 30 year old Japanese runner Yoko Shibui clocked 2:46:34.

Over 20,000 runners entered this year’s race, with the top runners getting in some solid practice in the lead up to the international marathon in Berlin in August. The race itself includes a full marathon, two half marathons, and a 5K event, and has been run annually since 1977 (except for 1988).

In other San Francisco Marathon results, in the mens Guillermo Gonzalez come in second with a clock time of 2:33:55, followed by Fritz Van De Kamp (2:34:01), Matt Amerlan (2:34:02), Daniel Feldman (2:35:15) and Allen Wagner (2:36:40.) In the womens, Yvonne Galus took second spot with a time of 2:49:21, followed by Julia Mallon (2:59:32), Ligicz Ortega (3:02:29) and Kelly Tarkowski (3:02:3.) A full list of results available here.
