Are The Kardashians Really Complaining In Cuba About Lack Of Internet?

Perhaps invading Cuba en masse was not the best decision that momager Kris Jenner has ever made for the Kardashian-Jenner family, because sadly for her, most people in Cuba have never seen Keeping Up With the Kardashians, and the public does not seem to care about the Kardashians. Even more glaring are the number of complaints allegedly logged by the Kardashian klan, and most of them involve being cut off from the Internet, and especially Snapchat.

According to the Inquisitr, the Kardashians have done a great deal of globetrotting, including several trips to the U.K. where Kanye West suggested at least part of the family might move. Kanye wants to move his family to England, where he claims that he is more comfortable amongst the landed gentry. West also had a portrait done of himself, along with wife Kim Kardashian West and their children, to hang over a mantle in their proposed English estate. Kris Jenner is allegedly against the move of any Kardashians out of the country, as it would make Keeping Up With the Kardashians, her prime money maker, more difficult to film.

Radar Online is reporting that Cuba is not exactly what the Kardashians had in mind when they were told that they were going on a Caribbean vacation. The whole crew, which includes those named Kardashian, West, and Jenner have found a number of issues with Cuba and the Internet, and have complained non-stop for someone to fix it, STAT!

A source is saying that the Kardashians were not prepared for Cuba as it is now.

“They’ve had an issue every two seconds about not having Internet. They complained they couldn’t get on Snapchat. They’re frustrated and they can’t wait to leave.”

Maybe nobody told Kris Jenner, before she moved Keeping Up With the Kardashians to Cuba for a cultural visit, that there is no such thing as reality television in Cuba. The Kardashians never thought that they would have to explain who they are, and why they are famous to an entire country. The only family member who might have some recognition is Kanye West, as a result of his music, but even that is a stretch. Keeping Up With the Kardashians is not available in Cuba at all.

“They don’t have reality TV in Cuba — the Kardashians aren’t a big deal. They are like, ‘Who are you, why are you filming?'”

CNN says that there is hope for humanity, because there is a place where nobody knows or cares to keep up with the Kardashians, and that is Cuba. The Kardashians have landed with their entourage to smoke cigars with full duck lips, and visit bars, tracing the path of Hemingway. Yeah, right.

The Keeping Up With the Kardashians crew filmed the ladies Kardashian walking through the hotel lobby, and not one person picked up their cell phone to snap a quick pic. It is unclear whether nobody recognized Kim Kardashian and her sisters, or if nobody cared, but it seems that all of the hired security was unnecessary, because the Kardashians are not being hounded through the streets of Havana.

Florida congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, who is of Cuban descent wondered what the Cuban people had done to deserve an invasion by the likes of the Kardashians.

“Haven’t the Cuban people suffered enough? Fidel, Raul Castro, and now the Kardashians?”

Ros-Lehtinen commented that the level of cultural insensitivity in the Kardashian family is vast. She tweeted about her level of disappointment.

“Told @accesshollywood that #Kardashians in #Cuba taking selfies w #Fidel signage ignores sad reality of #Cuban ppl”

Perez Hilton shared that the Kardashians rolled through Havana in a bright pink convertible, as if they wanted to draw even more attention to themselves. Hilton (who is also of Cuban descent) suggests that understanding the cultural history of Cuba might have helped the Kardashians have a more successful trip on the PR front.

Do you think the Kardashian trip to Cuba was a success?
