Kylie Jenner’s Pop Star Determination: Listen To Her Music Debut

Kylie Jenner has previously denied the rumors that she’s starting a music career, but it seems like the non-stop rumors about her interest in becoming a pop star are somewhat true.

The 18-year-old reality star just made her big singing debut on rapper Lil Yachty’s new track “Beautiful Day,” which dropped on Wednesday, May 4. The song is an R-rated remix of Mister Rogers’ “Neighborhood” theme song. Unfortunately, for Kylie, the fans weren’t too crazy about her singing voice. It seems like the track is a rough demo since the teen kept flubbing a few of the lyrics and was even heard giggling with her best friends, Justine Skye and Jordyn Woods.

“Jordyn, come on, I’ve never been on a song before! This is a f***ing…,” she’s heard telling her best friends around the 2:40 mark.

Some fans were concerned about the song. Not only did they critique Jenner’s singing voice, but they also wondered if she was heard saying the n-word.

One fan wrote: “@KylieJenner Idc how famous you are, you ain’t black & saying the n-word isn’t funny or cool & that’s not what u shld use ur celebrity for,” according to the New York Daily News.

Woods responded: “Girl that’s me and Justine. Kylie added one ad-lib. Lol.”

The friend also clarified that Kylie Jenner is not serious about a music career. The song just shows the three good friends playing around and having fun.

“Why do some of y’all take life so seriously. Stop being mad at the world and take a joke,” Woods then tweeted.

Early last month, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star dropped a surprise new video called “Glosses,” which promoted her new lip gloss line. The NSFW music video featured the youngest Jenner sister lounging around in her Rolls Royce while her girl squad hijacks a drug raid at a nearby hotel. Some wondered if Jenner is the one who’s heard singing in the video.

According to Radar Online’s report from two years ago, Kylie has high hopes of becoming the next pop star like Katy Perry.

“Kylie is now working on her first single! She is telling everyone that she knows she is going to be the next Katy.”

Then she sparked the rumors yet again in May, 2015, when she posted a video of herself singing on Snapchat. The short clip had fans wondering whether Jenner was singing or lip-syncing along to Pia Mia’s song. In addition, another source told The Mirror that Jenner definitely wants to become a singer, but on her own terms.

“She doesn’t want to be put in a box and only do one thing. She wants to be like Kim, but even bigger and more diverse – getting into music and producing as well. It’s believed her boyfriend Tyga is a big supporter of her singing career and there could be a collaboration on the cards.

“He actually thinks Kylie has some talent, but tells her she needs to polish her lyrics before he’ll agree to do a song with her.”

Kylie isn’t the only one in the family who has made her foray into pop music. Her older sister, Kim Kardashian, released her single “Jam [Turn It Up]” in 2011. Everybody knows how well that turned out. In her Watch What Happens Live interview with Andy Cohen, Kim called the song one of her biggest regrets.

“But if there’s one thing in life that I wish I didn’t do… I don’t like it when people kind of dabble into things they shouldn’t be. And that I don’t think I should have. Like, what gave me the right to think I could be a singer? Like, I don’t have a good voice.”

Hopefully Kylie Jenner doesn’t regret her latest dabble into music. What are your thoughts on the reality star becoming a pop star? Sound off below in the comments section.
