Janet Jackson has debuted her new music video, and it’s not named “Damn Baby,” but “Dammn Baby,” as if Ms. Jackson is dragging on the word “damn” and giving serious inflection to the damned thing. View the “Dammn Baby” video below — a song with a curious title, seeing as though Jackson just revealed she’s having a baby herself.

On Twitter, reaction to “Dammn Baby” is pouring in under the #DammnBaby hashtag. As reported by Us Weekly, “Dammn Baby” dropped just after Jackson dropped the news that she was pregnant as a 49-year-old.

The news that Janet has gotten pregnant at 49 has folks wondering and whispering about whether or not Jackson used IVF treatments to get pregnant.

Janet should tell the world if she used IVF to get pregnant, so says Katherine Pushkar of the New York Daily News, in her article titled “Janet Jackson and other mature moms should say how they’re getting pregnant.”

The thought process is that getting pregnant two weeks prior to Jackson’s 50th birthday isn’t necessarily an easy feat. Younger female fans of Janet shouldn’t assume they can wait until they are nearly 50 to start having a family. The publication notes that getting pregnant at nearly 50 only happens naturally 3 percent or 4 percent of the time.

Those low percentages mean that Janet likely used in vitro fertilization (IVF) or some other method in order to get pregnant, and Pushkar is imploring Jackson to give insight into the IVF journey as other famous women have done for their fans.

Other celebrities have been pretty open about their IVF experiences. Kandi Burruss of Real Housewives of Atlanta fame was pretty open about using IVF to help the 39-year-old get pregnant, as reported by In Touch.

Kandi admitted that IVF treatments helped her and her husband, Todd Tucker, jump plenty of hurdles just to conceive. Once she successfully delivered their baby boy, Ace, in January, Kandi said it was well worth all the IVF struggles.

“I’m just obsessed with him right now! We really worked hard for Ace.”

Khloe Kardashian admitted using IVF, reports ET Online.

While Khloe was using IVF to try and fix her marriage to Lamar Odom, Kardashian didn’t end up birthing a baby. However, other moms who had children later in life and are in the public eye have been open about having IVF, using surrogates, or having their babies naturally.

When she was a 46-year-old, Geena Davis gave birth to a baby girl — and twins when she was 48-years-old.

Witnessing women like Halle Berry give birth at the age of 47 and Kelly Preston give birth as a 48-year-old, young fans might assume that it is easier for famous women — or all women — to have babies later in life. The reality is often quite the contrary, with certain stars being very open with the process they used to get pregnant, which can include spending a lot of money on IVF treatments.

Tyra Banks famously cried when talking about her struggle to get pregnant and described how hurtful and annoying it could be for complete strangers to keep asking her when she would have a baby. As seen in the above video, with great emotion, Banks explained that it’s not necessarily easy for every woman to get pregnant.

With more women in the public eye speaking out about infertility or their own IVF treatments, it helps to give a clearer picture of what some couples endure just to have a baby.

Meanwhile, Janet’s “Dammn Baby” single appears on her most recent album, Unbreakable. But fans will have to wait to see Jackson perform “Dammn Baby” in concert. Janet delayed her Unbreakable World Tour for family planning, and Jackson wrote on Facebook on April 6 that she had been told by her doctor to rest.
