Chloe Grace Moretz Calls Out ‘Uneducated’ & ‘Innapropriate’ Kim Kardashian
Chloe Grace Moretz is once again defending her decision to call out Kim Kardashian over her “inappropriate” naked selfie and responding to Kim’s “uneducated” and “aggressive” response to her social media message.
Moretz spoke out about her decision to put Kardashian on blast on social media in a new interview with Glamour magazine, where she revealed the situation surrounding her Kim Kardashian social media call out and why she “had to say something” about the reality star’s now infamous bathroom selfie.
“I had just gotten off a plane from South Korea, I was incredibly jet-lagged, and I couldn’t take one more thing. I saw that photo, and I had to say something,” Grace Moretz admitted in her Glamour cover feature, revealing that she doesn’t think Kardashian’s snap was anything other than a publicity stunt.
“That picture wasn’t linked to body confidence. It wasn’t a #BodyConfidence or #LoveWhoYouAre. It was done in a slightly voyeuristic light, which I felt was a little inappropriate for young women to see,” Chloe said. “I would hate for young women to feel they need to post certain photos in order to gain likes, retweets, favorites, and male attention.”
At the time, Chloe was accused of “slut shaming” Kardashian over her stripped-down Instagram snap, according to E! News, something Grace Moretz denied at the time and again in the new interview.
“I wasn’t slut-shaming. It’s not about body shaming… The way I look at it is, I’m trying to start conversations,” Chloe told Glamour regarding her social media slam. “You might not agree with my opinions, and that’s great – I would love to talk about it.”
Chloe Grace Moretz’s latest Kim talk comes two months after she publicly called out the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star over the now infamous Instagram photo in which Kardashian appeared completely naked in her bathroom alongside the caption “When you’re like I have nothing to wear LOL.”
“I truly hope you realize how important setting goals are for young women, teaching them we have so much more to offer than just our bodies,” Chloe tweeted in response to Kim’s NSFW selfie on March 7, which inspired a pretty unique response from the reality star.
“Let’s all welcome [Chloe Grace Moretz] to twitter, since no one knows who she is,” Kim hit back at Moretz, telling Chloe, “your nylon cover is cute boo.”
Although Moretz failed to respond to Kim on social media at the time, Chloe did reply to Kardashian’s social media message for the first time in her new Glamour interview, admitting that Kim’s scathing response to her call out was aggressive and uneducated and actually made her laugh.
“I started laughing,” Grace Moretz admitted of her response to Kim’s Twitter diss, “I look at [my phone] and I go, ‘Oh my God. She responded!'”
Chloe Grace Moretz also opened up about how her family took Kim’s social media message, admitting that her mom was even more offended that she was by Kardashian’s uneducated response to her original message.
“My mom took the most offense to it because it was girl-on-girl hate and Kim didn’t come back with an educated response on body confidence,” Grace Moretz told Glamour, claiming that Kardashian’s message was aggressive and incorrect.
“I don’t have 45 million followers or a TV show that follows my life. But people know who I am,” Chloe Grace Moretz said. “I pride myself on having opinions, and I don’t express them in snarky ways toward people.”
