‘Scandal’ Star Kerry Washington Is Pregnant, Appears At Met Gala With Visible Baby Bump

Kerry Washington is reportedly expecting her second bundle of joy with husband Nnamdi Asomugha, which was confirmed by multiple sources.

If the reports are true, the new baby will be the Scandal actress and NFL player’s second, as they are already proud parents to their two-year-old daughter, Isabelle.

However, the 39-year-old actress is notorious about her “no talking about family” rule, so expecting a confirmation about her pregnancy from her own mouth will probably be too much to hope for.

Kerry Washington was first rumored to be sporting a baby bump when she walked the red carpet of the always star-studded White House Correspondent’s Dinner. Aside from the actress, model Kendall Jenner was also in attendance, as well as Gabrielle Union-Wade (Think Like a Man), Miles Teller (Divergent, Whiplash), and Alan Cumming (The Smurfs).

The event was the last White House Correspondents’ Dinner hosted for President Barack Obama, as a new president will be elected in this coming November general elections.

As per reports, onlookers speculated that Kerry Washington was pregnant after a few photos of her surfaced online showing her trying to cover her baby bump. Her dress was also free-flowing and was not form-fitting, contrary to her styles at past red carpet events.

The actress strategically placed her clutch in front of her allegedly pregnant belly in the photos, leading many to believe that there really is a bun in the oven.

As for the 2016 Met Gala, many are now convinced that Kerry Washington is indeed pregnant with her second baby. She debuted her baby bump in the most glamorous way possible, as she wore a sexy and tight-fitting gown for the annual event.

The Scandal star rubbed her belly on the red carpet as photographers went on to snap photos of her. For the event, the 39-year-old actress wore a Marc Jacobs gown with a slit that climbed up to her thigh. To complete her look, Washington also wore a pair of polka dot gloves, also designed by Marc Jacobs.

The actress topped off her look with purple highlights on her curly hair, which flowed freely, as well as a pair of Gianvito Rossi shoes. As for her make-up, the star opted for a smoky blue eyes and a nude lipstick.

The look of Kerry Washington was made for the theme of the event called Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology.

The 39-year-old actress also gave her fans a sneak peek of the star-studded event as well as her designer gown. She shared photos on her social media accounts regarding the details of her gown, as well as behind the scenes for the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

The pregnant Kerry Washington was joined by other mothers-to-be at the event, and most were going through parenthood for the second time. Blake Lively was seen wearing a flowy pink gown from Burberry, but her bump was not that visible yet. This comes two weeks after it was confirmed that she and husband Ryan Reynolds are expecting their second child after they had their daughter James.

Another expecting actress who was seen was Emily Blunt, who will be a first-time mother. She stunned in a blue gown, and she even posed alongside another pregnant momma, Olivia Wilde. The two even posed for photos together as their baby bumps were on full display. Both of these women wore Michael Kors gowns during the event.

Kerry Washington and San Francisco 49ers cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha tied the knot in secret back in June 2013. The two have always kept their private lives on the down-low, even amid divorce rumors, and have raised their two-year-old daughter out of the public eye. The couple has yet to make announcements confirming or denying the pregnancy.
