Carly Rae Jepsen Dating Matthew Koma For More Than A Year

Carly Rae Jepsen has been dating Matthew Koma for more than a year, so the Canadian pop start probably doesn’t have to worry about whether he’ll be calling or not.

It’s been known that the Canadian singer has had a serious boyfriend for more than a year, but she kept quiet about the identity of her beau. Now People magazine has found out from an inside source that the 26-year-old Carly Rae Jepsen is dating musician Matthew Koma.

“He introduced her as his girlfriend,” the inside source told PEOPLE. “He seemed really excited about it, and she was smiling from ear to ear by his side during the introduction. He seems like a really nice and personable guy.”

Matthew Koma released his debut EP, Parachute. He is featured on Zedd’s electronic dance hit “Spectrum.” Rolling Stone magazine called the track “an endless-love club banger with laserlike synths that coincide nicely with the clip’s clever tale of intergalactic love.”

Carly Rae Jepsen’s love life has been the subject of many rumors and reports since her catchy “Call Me Maybe” invaded radio stations earlier this year. She has fought rumors that there is a sex tape of her floating around and took action to keep other revealing pictures of her private.

The couple was seen holding hands at the GetGlue HD Launch Party in Manhattan, and Carly Rae Jepsen was later seen with Matthew Koma and her parents having dinner at The Stanton Social.

“Many people recognized Carly and she posed for pictures with fans,” an onlooker at the Lower East Side eatery told People.

Though Carly Rae Jepsen has been dating Matthew Koma for more than a year, she didn’t refer to him by name in interviews. Instead she used ambiguous pronouns in place of Koma’s name, saying in May, “He makes me laugh every day and not always on purpose, but he’s my guy. He’s been really amazing and very supportive.”
