‘Captain America: Civil War’ After-Credits Scene: Spoilers Hidden At End Of Latest Marvel Movie Give Audiences Extra Glimpse At Two Upcoming Superhero Movies

Fans who trek out to see Captain America: Civil War this weekend will want to know if there is an after-credits scene, and once again Marvel is making it worth it for fans who stick around to the bitter end.

The comic book series has been known for inserting a final scene after the credits have ended, often giving spoilers for future movies in the series. And Captain America: Civil War won’t disappoint in this regard, with an end-credits scene that gives audiences a closer look two of the upcoming installments in the superhero series.

As Slash Film noted, fans of Marvel Studios often get to see two difference scenes during the end credits — one after the stylish end-credits sequence, and the other after all the credits have finished rolling. And advanced screenings of Captain America: Civil War have shown just that, with a mid-credits scene that serves as a teaser for the upcoming Black Panther movie and features Captain America, The Winter Soldier, and Black Panther.

The second scene is a more direct preview of the upcoming Spider-Man reboot featuring Tom Holland. Birth.Death.Movies noted that international audiences got a peek at this Captain America: Civil War after-credits scene a few weeks before the movie debuted in the United States.

“It’s a quick scene that has Peter Parker (Tom Holland) messing with the new suit that was designed by Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.). It’s the same suit that you’ve seen in the trailer already, and it’s much more high-tech than the suit he was swinging around in previously (you get a glimpse of that in the movie too). The scene offers a little more close-up look at the suit this time, specifically a digital readout on his web shooters, hinting at a much more high-tech webslinger coming in his first solo movie in the Marvel cinematic universe. And in case there’s any doubt of that, we get the text that says ‘Spider-Man will return’ to confirm what we already know.”

Viewers won’t have to wait too much longer to see Spider-Man in action (at least, not long by Marvel Studios standards). The new stand-alone Spider-Man movie is set for release next summer, showcasing the youngest actor yet to portray Peter Parker and his web-slinging alter ego. Tom Holland is just 19-years-old, and cut his teeth in the London production of Billy Elliott, playing the title role. He is the most acrobatic of all the actors to play Spider-Man in recent years, and that will be on display in the next movie.

In an interview with Empire Magazine from last fall, via Yahoo!, director Jon Watts said that Holland and his skill set are a perfect for the re-boot, which focuses on Peter Parker as a teenager.

“There are only so many times you can kill Uncle Ben. I love the idea of making a coming-of-age high school movie. We’re really going to see Peter Parker in high school and get deeper into that side of it. He’s just 15 now… Tom was pretty perfect. He’s very athletic. He can actually do a backflip! If he didn’t already capture the spirit of the character, with that on top the kid is Spider-Man.”

Fans who see Captain America: Civil War will get their first look at Holland as Spider-Man, and those who stick around for the after-credits scene will see even more of him.
