Eminem’s Ex-Wife, Kim Mathers, Alleges She Tried Killing Herself In Deliberate Car Accident

Eminem’s ex-wife tried committing suicide last fall. Kim Mathers admitted to deliberately crashing her car, in which she rolled it into a ditch when she was intoxicated.

TMZ reports that Kim was trying to kill herself last October in an alleged drunk driving accident.

Kim called into the Detroit radio show, Mojo in the Morning, on channel 95.5 to share the details of her car accident. The case was sealed, making people believe she was getting preferential treatment from the court, but there was another reason for it. Eminem’s ex-wife says the docs were sealed by virtue of the fact that medical information related to her suicide attempt was in them.

Kim Mathers says in the radio interview that she intentionally searched for a road where no one would be harmed. Once there, she ingested pills and alcohol before she “hit the gas and aimed for a pole.” The Cadillac Escalade she was driving flipped, but Kim survived the wreck.

The troubled woman explains that she’s currently getting help for her depression.

“I have been clean for 10 years,” Mathers begins. “There are things that go on in people’s lives and people think just because we have money that it makes us happy. Yeah, I can pay bills, yeah, I can get the kids whatever they ask for and it’s great to see them happy. But you lose friends, you lose family. You have no one to trust to even speak to about personal business. And it’s hard.”

She then goes into how she tried attempting suicide on a road no one else was on. Kim says she “drank, took pills,” and “hit the gas and aimed for a pole.”

Mathers says she apologized to authorities for the accident, but that she didn’t think she’d survive it. The woman twice-divorced from Eminem goes on to express how upset she was that the 911 tapes were never played and that people assumed she was getting special treatment from authorities.

Kim “willingly” unsealed the files when she “realized how much drama” it was causing.

Since the accident, Kim says her kids have been very supportive.

According to Detroit News, the crash occurred at 23 Mile and Card roads in Macomb County. According to the police report, a first responder on the scene asked Mathers how much she had to drink and she said a fifth of Malibu rum.

Radio host, Mojo, asked Kim if Eminem has been supportive for her through her depression, and she said he’s been very present.

“He’s been real supportive,” Kim said in the interview. “We’re really close friends. We’re just trying to raise our kids together and make it as normal for them as possible.”

Kim says that you know someone, you can’t judge what’s going because you can’t see what’s inside.

“They just see what’s out there and judge, and it’s not right,” Kim states.

Mathers’ attorney, Michael Smith, has filed motions to have the case dismissed since the 41-year-old woman wasn’t in her right mind when she consented to blood tests. The prosecution insists Mathers wasn’t incapacitated and “consent was freely given.”

Kim Mathers will appear in court on May 26.
