Channing Tatum?’s Interview With Autistic YouTube Journalist? Carly Fleischmann

Actor Channing Tatum and Carly Fleischmann, YouTube star, recently had a very entertaining interview that’s been all over the internet. Fleischmann, a 21-year-old autistic reporter, interviewed Tatum for her “Speechless” interview series, reports Entertainment Weekly. The reason it’s called “Speechless” is due to the fact that young Carly Fleischmann has oral-motor apraxia, a disorder that prevents her from being able to speak, resulting in her using computer to speak.

“I would like to introduce you to my first guest ever!” Carly began when the actor joined her on camera. “He has been a stripper, a police officer, a secret agent, a reporter, a boyfriend to many, and soon he will dump his wife to be with me. I welcome Channing Tatum.”

This received a big laugh from Tatum as she proceeded to ask, in a not-so-subtle way, if he would ever date a 21-year-old with autism. Channing replied yes, but only if his wife, Jenna Dewan Tatum, allowed it. Fleischmann humorously let him know that her lawyers were already starting on the paperwork for his divorce.

Carly uses what is essentially a tablet to communicate, with each question programmed into the device. Fleischmann quickly eased up on her crush and began asking Channing about his wife. Specifically, the fact that Channing will often go along with things that Jenna is passionate about or believes in, even if he does not feel the same way. Tatum brought up things Jenna will buy at the Aura Shop in Santa Monica, California, that he just is not able to get into, nor was he able to actually describe what they are. But the shop itself centers around the idea of metaphysics and things of that nature.

Carly then brought up rumors about Channing living a pretty rebellious life as a child, noting times when he specifically would sneak out of the house at night. Carly defends herself, saying she grew up as “a perfect young lady” and never threw parties or snuck out without telling her parents – and she was quite fascinated with the idea of Channing Tatum doing these things when he was younger and living in Florida. The Magic Mike actor declared that he never got caught, but he and his friends would sneak out of their suburban homes and run into the woods and vandalize houses.

Channing Tatum’s good looks were suddenly brought back into the conversation, with Carly Fleischmann asking the actor if it is difficult being so handsome.

“I find it hard to make people take me serious at all, ever,” Tatum replied when asked if people were taking him seriously early on in his acting career.

“Yes is the answer to that. I’m really lucky, my parents are two good looking people, so…”

“Now I don’t want to appear to look shallow but in reality I am,” Carly said, diving head-first into her next question about Tatum’s life as a stripper.

When asked how many women were taking him home at the end of the night, Channing laughed and replied, “How many? At the end of one night? Some nights were more than others.”

Carly then asked about Channing and Jenna’s 3-year-old daughter and which one of Tatum’s acting friends would be forbidden from dating her, provided she was old enough to date today. Fleischmann cleverly added that she is only asking just to know who to stay away from in Hollywood or to know who she should be pursuing. Channing gave what is probably the most appropriate answer and said “none of them,” citing the abhorrent age differences.

And when asked what actors he would most like to work with, Channing Tatum named Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman.
