Texas Man Wants To Buy Foo Fighters Frontman Dave Grohl, Sets Up GoFundMe Page

A man from Abilene, Texas, is claiming to be Dave Grohl’s biggest fan, and he wants to purchase the Foo Fighters frontman.

Frank Pain set up a GoFundMe page on May 3 entitled “Help Me Purchase Dave Grohl.” In the description, Pain said that he set up the page hoping that he can raise enough money to purchase Dave Grohl so they can “hang out and high five and s**t.” The target amount is set at $35,000, and so far, he has raised $85 from 10 people as of this writing.

“I’m not 100% the amount I’m asking for will buy him. Hell, I’m not even sure if it’s legal to purchase another human being without being some central part of a 20/20 tv special. But, I figured it wouldn’t hurt to try, right?”

And if Dave Grohl isn’t willing to be purchased? Frank Pain has a backup plan.

“If it is indeed illegal to purchase another human (or if Mr. Grohl isn’t a willing purchasee) then I’ll spend the money on beer because Dave seems like the kind of person that would want me to drink beer.”

So far, Frank has the support of other Dave Grohl fans.

A comment from Cindy Romeo says, “I certainly hope this all works out. (And that my donation doesn’t link me to some human trafficking/kidnapping thing).”

Chris Summers, who donated $5 to Pain’s cause, said, “Come with a stipulation that you have to get me one of his socks…not sure why but yea, a Dave Grohl sock.”

As DC101 iHeart Radio reports, Dave Grohl takes notice of his fans’ requests. So far, there is no news on Grohl’s reaction to the GoFundMe page set up to purchase him.

Dave Grohl has done some pretty amazing things for his fans in the past, and he is also known as one of the nicest guys in the music industry.

In 2015, as reported by Ultimate Classic Rock, Dave Grohl noticed a fan crying in the crowd during a Foo Fighters’ concert in Colorado, and he asked security to bring the man up the stage. As he sang “My Hero,” he had some words for the fan.

“I’m singing this s**t to you right now. I’m gonna sing this f***ing song right in your face, man-to-man, prison style. I’m going man-to-man. Me and you — I want some real tears; you better sing it with me.”

It was later found out that the man from the crowd was crying because he had just lost his mother.

“My mum died about six months ago and I just got back from Europe putting her in her crypt. He started singing it and I felt all emo.”

In another fan moment, Dave invited a fan up onstage to down a beer with him. In a Foo Fighters concert last year in Michigan, Foo Fighters fan Griffin held up a sign that read, “It’s my 50th. Let’s have a beer.” Grohl obliged and had a beer with Griffin.

“I know it’s your 50th birthday. We’ve got a lot of songs we’ve got to play tonight. I’m gonna share this beer with you, and then I’ve gotta do my job.”

Another fan who spent his birthday watching a Foo Fighters concert got his wish, as the Inquisitr reported, and he was able to play drums with the band onstage.

Dave Grohl just might be the nicest guy in rock and roll, and it’s safe to say that Frank Pain has a fair chance of getting his wish to hang out with his idol, even without purchasing Dave Grohl for $35,000.
