Kanye West Blames His Taylor Swift VMA Outburst On ‘Closet Racism’ & Britney Spears

Kanye West is blaming his 2009 MTV VMA stage storm during Taylor Swift’s speech on “closet racism” and Britney Spears.

Once again speaking out about the now-infamous incident on The Steve Harvey Morning Show, Kanye claimed that the 2009 Video Music Awards incident wasn’t about him or Taylor and was actually just a way for Americans to express their “closest racism.”

“It’s not about Kanye West. It’s not about Taylor Swift,” West said in the new interview. “There’s a lot of people in America that feel like they don’t have the platform to stand up and express their closet racism. Before they had that platform, one really easy way to express it was to say, ‘F Kanye West.'”

Kanye then went on to claim that Swift’s big win was also Britney Spears’ doing, bizarrely speculating that MTV chose Taylor as the next big female popstar following Britney’s 2007 meltdown.

“As soon as Britney shaved her head and they saw that money going down, they had already marked what that award was going to be that night,” West then speculated on Steve Harvey’s radio show this week, despite Britney shaving her head two years prior to the MTV award show.

“They ain’t expect no activist that had just lost his mama a year later, sitting there with a bottle of Hennessey,” Kanye said of the night he interrupted Taylor Swift’s big moment. “The only reason I drank the Hennessey in the first place is because I said, ‘I’mma just have to get drunk to deal with all the lies I’m about to see.'”

As fans will remember, Kanye stormed the stage in 2009 after it was announced that Taylor Swift had won the MTV Video Music Award for Female Video of the Year for her track “You Belong With Me,” spouting the now infamous line, “I’mma let you finish, but Beyoncé had one of the greatest videos of all time!”

But it wasn’t just Taylor Swift and Britney Spears who got all of Kanye West’s attention in the explosive new interview.

West also revisited his past Twitter feud with Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose in the Steve Harvey radio interview, where he appeared to apologize for involving their son Sebastian in a series of scathing tweets he posted about the former couple earlier this year.

“I really want to really stress the amount of respect that I have for parents and that there is no concept of anyone beating up on someone else’s child or that type of concept,” Kanye said, appearing to apologize for claiming that he “owned” the former couple’s child.

“Every day I actually feel more deeply, deeply, deeply apologetic about that concept, because I only want to put out positive, positive, positive concepts,” West said.

Kanye West’s apparent apology follows his bizarre January Twitter rant, in which he told Khalifa that he let a stripper (Amber) “trap him” and claimed that Wiz wouldn’t have a child if it wasn’t for him.

“You wouldn’t have a child if it wasn’t for me,” West wrote on the social media site according to E! News, which followed a slew of messages on the social media site that also included West telling the rapper “I own your child!!!!”

Amber Rose then hit back at Kanye, who she dated for two years between 2008 and 2010, with a pretty scathing Twitter message of her own, tweeting out to Kanye earlier this year, “Awww @kanyewest are u mad I’m not around to play in ur a****** anymore? #FingersInTheBootyA**B****.”
