This Justin Bieber And Post Malone ‘Déjà Vu’ Collaboration Snippet Sounds Tasty — Listen

Justin Bieber and Post Malone’s friendship isn’t just ripe for Renaissance art memes. The duo also have a hot new collaboration on Malone’s upcoming mixtape.

That’s the good news. The great news is that a snippet of the new track has arrived online, thanks to Pigeons and Planes, who attended Malone’s mixtape preview at the Up & Down nightclub in New York City on Tuesday night. The tape is seemingly called August 26, according to Hot New Hip Hop.

The 30-second dub collaboration, which may be called “Déjà Vu” kicks off with the “White Iverson” rapper, before Bieber ushers in a melodic, lilting chorus.

“Tell me is that Déjà Vu / ‘Cause you want me and I want you / Tell me is that Déjà Vu / ‘Cause baby it ain’t nothing new?” he sings.

Back in January, Justin Bieber and Post Malone fans were given a heads up that a new joint music project was on the way when the duo popped on on each other’s Instagrams. The pair were spotted hanging out backstage at the CaliBash 2016 festival and subsequently at a Bryson Tiller concert.

“Just wait on it,” Malone captioned an Instagram shot of the two at the beginning of this year.

Justin followed that up a week later with his own pic, teasing, “Got something special coming @postmalone.”

The music stars then surfaced in a playful Instagram pic shared by Justin during his birthday weekend in March. Shortly after it was announced that Malone and songstress Moxie Raia would be the support acts for the Biebs’ Purpose World Tour, which began on March 9.

That BieberMalone playfulness would be echoed in April when the Biebs was spotted horsing around post-show at a Houston nightclub and appeared to put out his cigarette out (albeit, very lightly) on the unknowing rapper’s arm. Later pics of Malone seemingly choking Bieber subsequently turned out to be a false alarm and led to meme heaven.

Back to last night’s mixtape preview. Pigeons and Planes reports around 150 people gathered in the basement of Up & Down to check out Malone’s new sounds. The music publication reveals one track is an ode to Post’s favorite former Dallas Mavericks player, Monta Ellis.

As well as the Justin Bieber collaboration, rapper and new age wunderkind Jaden Smith is also featured on the tape. An unfinished track was also played to the crowd, which reportedly included model pals Kendall Jenner and Hailey Baldwin.

Reactions to Malone’s mixtape? Apparently, it’s “flames.” Hot New Hip Hop reports the tape drops in a week or days and Post’s debut album will touch down in August. Presumably August 26.

Meanwhile, the newly-buzzcut Biebs is in NYC. Although he ducked out of this year’s somewhat tragic MET Gala, the singer was spotted at an after-party in a tuxedo rocking an open shirt and new Cartier necklace. The 22-year-old is in town for a two-night run at the famed Barclays Center starting tonight, as he continues his 114-date tour.
