Chris Brown Teases New Single, ‘Grass Ain’t Greener,’ And Reveals ‘WTML’ Documentary Is ‘Coming Soon’

Chris Brown may have released his highly anticipated mixtape, Before the Trap: Nights in Tarzana, alongside his OHB crew just last week, but it looks like Breezy is already prepared to drop some new music after announcing the title of his upcoming new single, “Grass Ain’t Greener,” via Instagram on Tuesday.

Last week, Chris Brown took to Twitter to provide eager fans with a run-down of his upcoming projects, which include the kick-off to the European leg of his “One Hell of a Nite Tour,” arrival of his controversial Welcome To My Life documentary, and premiere of his previously untitled new single, “Grass Ain’t Greener.”

“TEAM BREEZY TO DO LIST: 1. OHB MIXTAPE DROPS FRIDAY 2. SECTION BOYZ, QUAVO, OHB SONG ‘WHIPPIN’ 3. NEW CHRIS BROWN Single drops MAY 5 4. OHOAN TOUR EUROPE 5. DOCUMENTARY 6. PARTY YOUR A** OFF! 7. TAKE OVER THE WORLD!!!!! *fire emoji*,” Chris Brown wrote on Twitter on April 26.

Just one week after teasing the impending release of his new single, Chris Brown took to Instagram on Tuesday to share the title, cover art, and tentative release date of his new track, “Grass Ain’t Greener,” which will reportedly drop this Thursday, May 5, in honor of Brown’s 27th birthday.

“MAY 5th. I HOPEFULLY WILL HAVE THE ITUNES LINK ON MY BDAY,” Breezy wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of the single’s cover art.

Earlier this year, Brown provided fans with a sneak peek of the audio for “Grass Ain’t Greener” via Periscope in January, as captured by a fan-created account for the singer on YouTube.

In the video, Chris Brown can be seen dancing to his new track while mouthing along to lyrics like, “You ain’t the girl that you used to be / You say you’re done, you’re moving on / This ain’t the world that it used to be / Looks like you’ve won, looks like you’ve won…You used to be the one to talk to on the side / Waiting for my love to break up / It’s crazy how your a** ain’t walk through every night / Acting like you been a player / That grass ain’t greener on the other side.”

News of Brown’s upcoming track comes just days after the singer seemingly revealed the title of his forthcoming album, Heartbreak on a Full Moon, on Instagram before deleting the post just hours later. While fans were able to capture a screengrab of Brown’s post before it was deleted, no tentative release date for the alleged new album has been confirmed, Rap-Up reports.

In addition to revealing the title of his new single, Chris Brown also took to Twitter on May 2 to tease the impending arrival of his upcoming documentary, Welcome to My Life, before noting that the project is “coming soon.”

While there is little information available about the official release date of Brown’s WTML documentary, the singer did retweet a post from Riveting Entertainment earlier this week that encourages fans to submit their information on the documentary’s official website to obtain “exclusive fan access” regarding the film’s release.

“Chrisbrowndocumentary.com Go answer the survey. We are reading every submission, and there has already been thousands!! TeamBreezy strong,” Riveting Entertainment wrote on Twitter in response to fan questions regarding exclusive access for the documentary’s release.

According to the official website for Brown’s impending documentary, the film will include never-before-seen concert footage and behind-the-scenes access in addition to interviews with Jennifer Lopez, DJ Khaled, Rita Ora, Jamie Foxx, Mike Tyson, Usher, and more. Welcome To My Life will be examining Chris Brown’s “passion for making music, his tumultuous and much-publicized relationships, and the pitfalls of coming of age in the public eye.”
