Kanye West: Rapper’s Criminal Record Gets Erased


Kanye West has been given a break on the assault charge he incurred due to punching a paparazzo in the face. A Los Angeles judge expunged West’s criminal record involving the altercation that occurred in 2013.

The rapper pleaded no contest to misdemeanor battery in March of 2014 for reportedly punching paparazzo Daniel Ramos. Additionally, Kanye allegedly scrambled for the photogs camera and threw it to the ground at the Los Angeles International Airport in 2013.

A Los Angeles judge has expunged Kanye West’s 2013 paparazzi clash from his criminal record. The hit-maker was placed on probation for a two-year period and was additionally ordered to serve 250 hours of community service as well as to attend anger management classes. West was also ordered to keep away from Ramos.

In March, 2016, The “Gold Digger” rapper filed legal papers and asked the judge who is overseeing the case to wipe the altercation from his record following the completion of his community service sentence and additionally holding talks at the Los Angeles Trade Technical College. Kanye also managed to stay out of trouble during his probation time.

TMZ reports that the judge overseeing the case has officially removed the case from West’s criminal record.

The Belfast Telegraph relays additional suits that have come about from the 2013 dust-up involving West and Ramos.

“Ramos also sued the rapper for assault, battery, negligence and interference with his civil rights following the clash, but the two parties reached an agreement in April, 2015 to put the matter behind them. Kanye issued a public apology and the pair was pictured shaking hands, but it is not known if any payment was involved.”

Since the altercation, Kanye West has done his best to be respectful of the photographers who snap pics of him incessantly. The rapper was even responsible for breaking up a fight between two photographers in February of this year, as well as the following month, at the same airport that he and Ramos had their disagreement.

Interestingly enough, Kanye grabbed a ride with a paparazzo from the airport when his own Uber-ordered cab did not show up at the airport. West has seemed to turn a corner with his anger issues.

In other Kanye West and Kim Kardashian-West news, the power couple, always in need of a piece of the spotlight, stunned at the 2016 Met Gala over the weekend. The pair wore matching metallic ensembles. Kanye and Kim even left with the “Best Dressed” title, as Us Weekly shares.

Kanye referred to the event as the “Grammy’s of style” and was sure to make a lengthy note on of the award, seeing as we all are aware that the rapper takes awards extremely seriously. Kanye thanked everyone from Anna Wintour to Olivier Rousteing. The publication relays West’s words in his acceptance of the title.
