Prince Shaded Justin Bieber, Talked Sex, & Predicted Woman President In Lost Interview: Did Bieber Diss Prince?

Prince participated in a final interview with Rolling Stone in 2014 that has now resurfaced. During his far-ranging conversation, Prince shaded Justin Bieber and issued a prediction that the U.S. would vote a woman president into office, reported Us Weekly.

Despite the intrigue of the details that the “Purple Rain” superstar singer revealed in his discussion with the publication, the intended cover and feature story were tossed out. But now that his quotes have come to light, the intensity that Prince maintained for his chosen industry is clear. Among those tidbits, the singer admitted he was disappointed in the entertainment industry, using Bieber as an example.

“You’re trying to find the personality first, make sure you’ve got that locked in,” Prince pointed out in his diatribe accusing music executives of prioritizing personality and public awareness over raw talent.

“And it’s better if they got scandal on ’em or a reality show or sex tape. And they have it down to an art,” he added.

And that’s when Prince shaded Bieber, who was 20-years-old at the time of the interview.

“They’re getting street cred for Justin Bieber now!”

In addition to slamming the way that the music industry chooses which potential stars to reward with money and fame, Prince discussed his concept for who would become President after President Barack Obama’s 8-year tenure. The singer predicted that it was time for a woman.

“We’re in the feminine aspect now. That’s where society is. You’re gonna get a woman president soon,” promised Prince.

As to his own view on whether the next president should be female or male, Prince sided with those in favor of a woman in the White House.

“Men have gone as far as they can, right??… I learn from women a lot quicker than I do from men,” he revealed. “At a certain point, you’re supposed to know what it means to be a man, but now what do you know about what it means to be a woman? Do you know how to listen? Most men don’t know how to listen.”

In addition, Prince discussed sex while reflecting on religion. He made the decision to remain celibate because of “energy” and religion. By abstaining from sex, the singer believed that the desire could be channeled.

“The hunger turns into something else,” said Prince of his celibacy.

The singer and former backup dancer, Mayte Garcia, were married from 1996 until 2000. Prince and businesswoman Manuela Testolini were married for five years prior to his decision to divorce her in 2006.

After learning about the Jehovah’s Witness religion from Larry Graham, his bassist, he explained what he saw as the benefits.

“It’s just all expanded,” Prince declared. “Anything I believed then, I believe even more now — it’s just expanded.”

But one topic was off-limits, and that was Prince’s friendship with Michael Jackson.

“I don’t want to talk about [Michael Jackson’s death]. I’m too close to it.”

Discovered unresponsive on April 21, Prince died at 57. The autopsy results are pending, but an overdose currently is regarded as the cause of death. Federal law enforcement officials revealed that prescription painkillers were in Prince’s home and possession when he died.

After Prince died, celebrities, fans, and family flocked to social media to share their praise, their memories, and mourn. But mere hours after the news spread of the loss, Bieber shocked everyone by reportedly posting that Prince was “not the last greatest living performer,” reported the New York Daily News.

The comment posted by an individual who appeared to be Justin came to light following a tribute by songwriter Andrew Watt.

“Today waking up to this news I am truly beside myself…devastated…the last of the greatest living performers…my guitar idol,” posted Watt. “His connection to ALL his instruments yielded a sexual transcending aura.”

To that Bieber posted that Prince wasn’t the “last greatest living performer.” Some speculated he was boasting about his own songs, while others thought Justin was throwing shade at Prince’s music.

But Team Belieber says that they are all wrong when it comes to assuming that Bieber was making an outrageous comment about Prince, reported Page Six.

“This is totally false,” a spokesperson for Justin informed Page Six.
