Maria Sharapova Preps For Doping Scandal Suspension Hearing Before Wimbledon

Maria Sharapova is prepping for the hearing in hopes of clearing up the suspension that rose out of her doping scandal. This hearing has been set before Wimbledon 2016, which means that if Maria Sharapova makes a convincing case, she will be back on the grass courts in no time.

A disciplinary hearing has been scheduled in Maria Sharapova’s doping case, with a ruling possible before Wimbledon,” reports New York Times. “Sharapova was provisionally suspended after announcing on March 8 that she tested positive for meldonium at the Australian Open.”

Since her temporary suspension, the Russian player has been focusing on keeping herself busy — with training, partying and enjoying life out of tennis.

In fact, she may be enjoying herself a little too much. She showed off on Twitter that she is attending the Met Gala this year, displaying to the public that she looks beautiful even without any fancy gear or makeup on.

When she touched down in New York, she didn’t hesitate to get herself cultured by attending a Broadway musical.

Maria Sharapova continued to be putting on a brave face on things as she headed to the theatre on Saturday night in casual yet fashionable clothing,” reports the Daily Mail. “The 29-year-old looked relaxed in a beige chunky knit jumper, which was embellished with black stripey detailing.”

She also has been doing her share of hanging out with cute men. Luckily for her fans, she didn’t hesitate to show him off on Twitter.

But this doesn’t mean that she has been slacking off in her training. Right before she took off to the Big Apple, Maria Sharapova has been busting it on court, making sure that her game stays as sharp as possible.

In fact, she might be back on court even before she realizes she has been cleared of the doping scandal. The Wimbledon chairman spoke out last week, saying that he would be glad to have the Russian tennis player in the English tournaments.

It would be a great shame if Maria was not here,” said Wimbledon chairman Philip Brook, according to the Express UK. “She is a former champion at Wimbledon, and very popular with the crowds. In terms of what happened we need to let due process take its course and an outcome be determined and see what happens after that.”

From the sounds of his words, it definitely shows that he is more interested in Maria bringing the crowds to Wimbledon instead of wanting to see a hard-working and talented athlete do well in her field. The fact that her doping scandal and suspension has made her even more famous means that it would be in the benefit of Wimbledon to have the Russian compete.

Some say that she has been a little too “arrogant” in her approach in defying the doping scandal and her temporary suspension.

She’s been putting on a defiant front following the recent furore over her drug scandal and provisional suspension from tennis,” reports the Daily Mail. “And Maria Sharapova continued in this vein as she stepped out at the star-studded Snoop Dogg Vogue Party at West Hollywood’s El Compadre restaurant on Wednesday evening. The 28-year-old Russian tennis ace looked low-key but still lovely as she flaunted her pins while exiting the venue after the soiree.”

The former Wimbledon champion also has been blocking out sounds from her enemies, who claim that she is not nice and rude in the changing rooms.

“I didn’t make any statement, as I didn’t want to be the only person to openly say what they think about this case,” she said, according to Sydney Morning Herald. “I will only say that I don’t feel sorry at all for Sharapova and I don’t miss her on the tour. She’s a totally unlikeable person. Arrogant, conceited and cold. When I sit beside her in the locker room, she won’t even say hello.”
