Rita Ora ‘Torn’ About Met Gala: Will Beyoncé And Jay-Z Attend?

Rita Ora caused headlines when she was rumored to be the “Becky” that Beyoncé mentioned in her new visual album, Lemonade.

The British pop star was planning to attend this year’s Met Gala, but now she’s “having second thoughts” due to the nonstop cheating allegations with Jay Z. She was accused of being the “Becky with the good hair” after she shared a Snapchat photo of herself wearing a lemon bra, and then shared an Instagram photo of the Elizabeth Taylor film, Ash Wednesday, which is said to be about infidelity.

Since the Met Gala is on Monday, May 2, Ora is thinking of backing out of the event, an alleged insider revealed to the Hollywood Life.

“Rita is having second thoughts about attending the Met Ball. She has her gorgeous outfit picked out, but she’s dreading a confrontation with Beyoncé and wants to avoid her and Jay Z. At this point, she may not even go. She may pull out at the last minute.”

Later this week, the singer took to Twitter to deny that she is the woman involved in Beyoncé and Jay Z’s marital problems. Ora said that she has nothing but respect for Queen Bey.

“I never usually address tabloid gossip but let me be clear, these rumours are false. I have nothing but the utmost respect for Beyoncé. Let’s continue enjoying Lemonade.”

Everyone has been wondering if Beyoncé and Jay Z will also attend the 2016 Met Gala together. This year’s theme is “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology.” Bey and Jay have been attending the event since 2008, but 2014 and 2015 were turbulent times for the couple.

The power couple attended the 2014 Met Gala in Old Hollywood glamour for the “Charles James: Beyond Fashion” theme. Beyoncé stepped out in a sheer and low-cut black gown with vintage jewelry and a veil while Jay Z wore a black and white unbuttoned tuxedo. That was also the year that Beyoncé and Jay Z first sparked the divorce rumors because of the 2014 Met Gala elevator fight between Solange and Jay Z.

As seen in the elevator’s surveillance camera footage released by TMZ, Jay Z got a swift beating from Solange while Beyoncé stood there awkwardly. The bodyguard had to be the one to haul Solange away from the hip-hop mogul. Unfortunately, the video did not have any audio, so we will never know what really happened.

The couple then attended the 2015 Met Gala in a look that was out of this world. Beyoncé made her grand entrance in a high ponytail and nude sheer bedazzled dress that kicked off the “naked dress” red carpet trend. Meanwhile, Jay Z stuck to a classic black tuxedo. Their looks didn’t fit the theme “China: Through the Looking Glass,” but they still stole the attention away from the other celebs when they arrived late.

But that was also the year where Rita Ora was spotted hugging Jay Z from behind. The photo below shows Ora hugging him as he spoke with Diddy. According to the Beyhive, Ora was out of line for giving her boss a hug.

While the hug was a bit inappropriate, it doesn’t mean that Rita should be blamed for Bey and Jay’s marital problems. She previously denied the affair rumors on a radio interview with The Breakfast Club.

“Don’t you dare disrespect Beyoncé like that ever again in your entire life. You should know better than that…that’s just straight-up disrespect. You can’t even go there.”

So, if Rita Ora is a no-show at this year’s Met Gala, does that mean Beyoncé and Jay Z will attend? A previous report on Entertainment Tonight revealed the answer.

“A source tells ET that the pair will most likely attend this year’s ceremony.”

Beyoncé is set to perform the next show of her Formation Tour in Atlanta, Georgia, on May 1 and then in Raleigh, North Carolina, on May 3, according to her official website. That means that Beyoncé is free to play on Monday night. Jay Z doesn’t have another show to perform until May 20, so it looks like they will attend the event together.

In addition, the Hollywood Life believes that Beyoncé will be this year’s surprise musical guest at the Met Gala since she has some free time in her schedule. Since Rihanna performed at the Met Gala in 2015, it would make sense to have Beyoncé perform this time around.
