Michigan Home Yields 151 Dead Dogs

Dearborn, MI (AHN) – Animal officers in Dearborn, Michigan discovered Friday 151 dead dogs, including 75 stuffed in several freezers, in the basement of a home where 111 live dogs were earlier rescued.
Animal control officers and animal shelter representatives found the dead dogs while searching for and rescuing more live dogs inside the house in the 7800 block of Orchard. About 100 Chihuahuas and Chihuahua mixes were rescued from the home since Wednesday.
Police are planning to file animal cruelty charges against the home’s occupant, 56-year-old Kenneth Lang Jr. It remains unknown why Lang kept so many dogs in his home, which has been declared unfit for human habitation.
Meanwhile, the Dearborn Animal Shelter has temporarily taken custody of rescued dogs for caring and feeding. It is asking the public to donate food for the dogs
