Madonna Reunites With Her Son, Rocco, Amidst Custody Battle With Ex-Husband Guy Ritchie

Madonna reunited with her son, Rocco, and captured the heartwarming mother and son moment on Instagram.

The photo is significant, since the “Like A Virgin” singer has been locked in a custody battle with her ex-husband, Guy Ritchie, over Rocco. Rocco currently lives with his father in England, although a court ruling ordered him to live with his mother in New York.

According to an article published earlier this month in Us Weekly, Madonna and Guy Ritchie met up in London to have a serious conversation about Rocco’s custody.

“The meeting went well and it’s a great sign of things to come,” an alleged insider from Madonna’s camp told Us Weekly.

Madonna and Ritchie met in Central London at Madonna’s home and, according to Us Weekly, Guy Ritchie dropped Rocco off at his mother’s apartment a day later so that they could spend some quality time together.

“This is the first sign of him getting close to his mom again,” the source continued. “She’s in such a good mood.”

People Magazine reports that during the visit, Madonna and Rocco caught a showing of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and that Madonna even allowed Rocco’s friends to come back home with them to hang out.

As the article in People notes, it looks like Guy Ritchie and Madonna are trying to make this whole custody thing work per the advice of a British judge who told them “to seek, and to find an amicable resolution,” to their custody battle.

Rocco and Madonna’s relationship had previously made headlines when an Instagram account bearing Rocco’s name had “Son of a B***h” written as his bio. It turned out that the Instagram account was fake. But, according to the Daily Mail, it echoes another rumored incident in Australia on the Rebel Heart Tour when Madonna reportedly called him a “son of a b***h” on stage. Rocco had previously deleted his actual Instagram account with 14,000 followers, the Daily Mail reports. The deletion was allegedly prompted by Madonna posting a picture of Rocco with pigtails.

“The fact it has been set up at all, even if it is just a prank by one of his friends, shows how public their feud has become,” a source reportedly close to the “Material Girl” singer said at the time. “For Madonna, it is proof their relationship needs to get back on track as soon as possible.”

According to reports in the Daily Mail, Madonna opened up her home in London specifically to facilitate meetings with Rocco, since he seems very committed to living in England with his father.

“Madonna is having her house opened up and she will sit in it until he comes to visit,” a source said around the time the news broke that Madonna going to London to see Guy and Rocco. “She is determined and focused. She’s very concerned for his well being. She has been exercising every day to make sure she is in perfect health for when they meet.”

The Daily Mail reports that this new photo with Madonna and Rocco has been well-received by Madonna’s fans on Instagram, as over 65,000 people have like the photo so far.

In addition to Rocco, Madonna is also a mother to 19-year-old Lourdes, her daughter from a relationship with Carlos Leon, as well as David Banda, 10, and 10-year-old Mercy. She recently shared a lot of pictures of her and her children on Instagram, showing how important motherhood truly is to her.
