President Obama NOT Dumping Joe Biden After All

Despite calls to dump the gaffe-worthy Joe Biden from Barack Obama’s 2012 ticket and this very site’s own speculation into the matter, the White House confirmed Wednesday that Biden is not being dumped after all and that the second-term ticket will still read Obama/Biden.

Vice President Joe Biden is in the media tanker over his “they’re gonna put y’all back in chains” comment, causing several figures to publicly call for President Obama to dump him from the re-election ticket. During a press briefing Thursday, White House Spokesperson Jay Carney confirmed that Biden is still the VP and that rumors suggesting his impending dismissal are false, reports CBS News.

“Yes. And that was settled a long, long time ago,” said Carney, when asked if the 2012 ticket was still Obama/Biden. “And while I appreciate, I have great admiration for and respect for and a long relationship with Senator John McCain, but one place I would not go for advice on vice presidential running mates is to Senator McCain.”

Fact check: Senator John McCain said “I think it might be wise to” replace Biden with Clinton, but said “it’s not going to happen obviously, for a whole variety of reasons.” It was former McCain running-mate Sarah Palin who “advised” the White House to dump Biden for Clinton, but that just wouldn’t have made Carney’s joke very funny. Furthermore, isn’t his comment kind of a dig at Hillary?

Side note: It’s interesting that no one has called for Biden’s resignation like he’s not self-aware or responsible enough to do it. No, they go right to Obama like tattlers and demand that he dump Biden. Hmm.
