Ivana Trump: Donald Had Trouble ‘Achieving And Maintaining An Erection’

Ivana Trump and her ex-husband Donald now have a friendly relationship with one another, but at one time, things were considerably more strained.

According to the 1993 book Lost Tycoon: The Many Lives of Donald J. Trump, an accusation was allegedly made by Ivana that her then-husband had trouble “achieving and maintaining an erection,” and that it was a contributing factor to their eventual breakup.

Politico recently brought this news tidbit back to life after collecting all of the many Trump biographers under one roof to discuss what makes the man tick in a piece entitled, “Trumpology: A Master Class.”

Author Harry Hurt III attributed the quote to Ivana Trump, who had allegedly shared the information with some of her female friends.

This particular item made Hurt a target of Trump at the time, and he might have also been the target of a lawsuit — at least his publisher might have been — had Trump not allegedly made one fatal mistake to his case.

Here’s how Harry tells it.

“Prior to the publication of my book, he and his lawyer, Jay Goldberg, came to scream at the folks at Norton, mainly about Ivana’s divorce deposition…. And finally Donald got so frustrated, he jumped up and he pulls a tape recorder out of his coat pocket. He said, ‘I’ve been recording all this,’ and our little lawyer looked at him, and Goldberg just turned like this napkin, white. ‘You’ve been recording this and you didn’t tell us? That’s not right.’ And I’m going, ‘Yeah.’

“They walked out and I said, ‘He can’t sue us now. He’s not going to sue us because they just shot themselves in the foot.'”

Laws in New York and throughout many states in the U.S. forbid the recording of another individual without authorization and consent.

By recording the conversation and then making it known, Hurt attests, Trump poisoned any case that he might have against the author and his publisher.

Of course, there is evidence to suggest that whatever the problem might have been sexually between Donald and Ivana Trump may have been situational or non-existent.

After all, Trump does have five biological children with three separate women. Ivana Trump is the mother of Eric Trump, Donald Trump, Jr., and Ivanka Trump.

Dancing with the Stars contestant Marla Maples, Trump’s second wife, gave birth to their daughter Tiffany Trump, and model Melania gave birth to child number five, son Barron.

Trump has also been romantically linked to a number of women over the years.

Rumored girlfriends over the years have been models Carla Bruni and Kara Young, though the truth isn’t quite clear on who took the plunge with “the Donald” and who didn’t.

Ivana Trump at one point had issued a statement throughout the divorce proceedings that Trump had raped her during their marriage, but she quickly clarified that it was more of an emotional feeling and not a sexual assault.

Here was her exact statement which accompanied publication [via The Daily Beast].

“During a deposition given by me in connection with my matrimonial case, I stated that my husband had raped me,” the Ivana Trump statement said. “[O]n one occasion during 1989, Mr. Trump and I had marital relations in which he behaved very differently toward me than he had during our marriage. As a woman, I felt violated, as the love and tenderness, which he normally exhibited towards me, was absent. I referred to this as a ‘rape,’ but I do not want my words to be interpreted in a literal or criminal sense.”

But what do you think, readers?

Are there too many mixed signals here to take seriously, or was Ivana Trump telling the truth when she initially spoke about Trump’s dalliances with her in the bedroom? Sound off in the comments section.
