Calvin Harris Swoons Over Taylor Swift: Are They Making Sweet Music Together?

For most of their long-term relationship, it seems like Taylor Swift has been the one who’s been doing most of the swooning. Now Calvin Harris has been sharing some support for the singer since his first-ever interview from a year ago.

Calvin Harris revealed what he really thinks about his pop star girlfriend. The 32-year-old EDM DJ said on KISS FM’s The Breakfast Show that he enjoys spending quality time with Taylor Swift, and added that she offers great career advice. When Harris was asked about the ongoing support he receives from Swift, he responded.

“She’s fantastic! She knows when it’s time to leave me for a bit on my own.”

Taylor has been super supportive of Calvin’s new music. She couldn’t contain her excitement over the news of his new collaboration with Rihanna. The artists previously collaborated on the hit songs “We Found Love” and “Where Have You Been.” Supportive Taylor took to Instagram to share a photo of the artwork along with the caption: “OMG.”

Taylor Swift even teased her boyfriend’s upcoming music at Coachella by wearing a bomber-style jacket with embroidery of the album artwork. Calvin Harris surely enjoys the attention he gets from his girlfriend. He added that she brings a smile to people’s faces, even his disagreeable manager.

“She’s super like encouraging and she kind of gets her vibe going with other people as well, you know, she can even cheer up my manager which is an unbelievable feat! So it’s fantastic having her around.”

The Scotland-born producer has been spending a lot more time in the U.S., thanks to his girlfriend. Even though he’s used to performing in places like Sin City, Harris admits that has grown a fondness for Swift’s childhood home of Nashville. Swift and Harris first sparked the dating rumors in March, 2015, when they were photographed holding hands and walking around the city.

“I’ve kind of got a soft spot for Nashville nowadays actually. It’s a really kind of peaceful, friendly place and I’d never been there like until last year.”

Though he loves traveling down south, Calvin often splits his time between Los Angeles and Las Vegas, where he currently has a residency. He says that he enjoys living in L.A. more than Vegas, which really does live up to its slogan.

“It’s working out really well for me, I only came here in the first place is because I got the Vegas gig, and I didn’t want to face living in Vegas because I would probably become an alcoholic murderer! But LA’s working out great, you know, I’ve got the studio up here. I’m just working and then taking breaks and it’s sunny. It’s like a life that I’m not used to, but I’m loving it.”

Harris also sat down for an interview on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show to promote his new single “This Is What You Came For,” featuring Rihanna. But Seacrest was more interested in knowing if Harris will ever collaborate with his superstar girlfriend.

“You know, we haven’t even spoken about it. I can’t see it happening though. No. She’s about to take a long break,” he revealed.

Fans who have been waiting for new music from Calvin Harris don’t have to wait any longer. He just released the new track on Friday, April 29, which is almost a year since his 2015 single “How Deep Is Your Love” with the Disciples. But you don’t have to wait another year for Calvin to drop any more beats. He has already announced his next single.

In another radio interview with U.K. radio personality Nick Grimshaw, he revealed one the Radio 1 Breakfast Show that his next song will feature Dizzee Rascal.

“Yeah, Dizzee’s back. I persuaded him to do basically a track that I really wanted to hear him on, and it just turns out that everyone is really loving it. I love working with people that, because the whole reason I work with them in the first place is because I love them, I love their voices.”

The two artists previously collaborated on the song “Here 2 China,” off of Harris’ third studio album, 18 Months. However, most EDM fans know the duo for their 2008 electro-funk song “Dance Wiv Me.” Check out their songs in the videos below.

But, for now, fans can enjoy Calvin’s new track with Rihanna. It’s destined to become the song of summer 2016, since it features Rihanna’s breathy vocals over another banger beat produced by Calvin Harris himself. Surely, it’s too early to declare a song of the summer, but “This Is What You Came For” is definitely a strong contender.
