‘The Vampire Diaries’: Bonnie’s Magic Means She Is Back On The Grid — Julie Plec Talks ‘Kill ‘Em All’

The Vampire Diaries has focused on Bonnie’s storyline in Season 7. Tonight, Episode 20 will air and TVD fans are wondering what will happen with the characters. Executive producer Julie Plec spoke about Friday’s episode in a producer’s preview video clip.

Warning: Possible spoilers ahead!

So far in Season 7 of TVD, Bonnie took pills that removed her magic. However, there was an unanticipated side effect. The pills allowed her to stay hidden, but it would cost Bonnie her life. The pills have been slowly killing her, and last week, it was revealed that Bonnie only had one week left to live. With Kat Graham’s announcement that she is leaving the show, many wondered if the series would kill Bonnie. That still may happen, but the writers have come up with a twist.

“These pills are meant to keep her hidden. The problem is the pills are making her sick,” Julie Plec teased about Bonnie’s situation in the producer’s preview on Spoilers Guide. “So, when the magic starts returning, that suddenly means she is back on the grid. So, now Bonnie has some decisions to make about just how hidden she needs to be and just what lengths she is willing to go to make sure the Armory doesn’t get their hands on her.”

The other TVD storyline that Plec discussed in the producer’s preview was Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Matt (Zach Roerig). Matt has done some shocking things to get rid of Stefan, including sending Rayna (Leslie-Anne Huff) after the Salvatore brother. But what led to Matt’s hatred in the first place?

Plec said a clue was in a previous episode of The Vampire Diaries. Matt knelt down at a tombstone that belonged to Penny Ares. The executive producer did not reveal how or what exactly happened, but did say TVD fans will find out on the April 29 episode. This doesn’t necessarily mean that Stefan was directly responsible for Penny’s death. However, Matt does blame the Salvatore brother for it.

What else can TVD fans expect on tonight’s episode? As previously reported by the Inquisitr, a sneak peek of “Kill ‘Em All” was recently released. It featured Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) making Stefan and Matt work together. The TVD video clip also had Damon explaining that he can deal with Kat Graham’s character hating him. However, he would not be able to handle it if Bonnie died on The Vampire Diaries.

Other information about the episode titled “Kill ‘Em All” doesn’t just focus on the main characters, but the guest stars as well. Leslie-Anne Huff, the actress that plays the vampire huntress on TVD, explained Rayna’s current situation.

“So not only is she being driven crazy by all the illusions and voices in her head, but she’s also dealing emotionally with hundreds of years of work having gone to waste,” Leslie-Anne Huff told TV Line regarding Rayna Cruz on TVD. “You’ll see how someone like Rayna, who’s such a tough and secretive character so far, deal with that.”

The Vampire Diaries Season 7, Episode 20 will be intense, judging by the synopsis, video clips, and cast interviews. Although Bonnie’s storyline is the biggest right now, TVD fans are also curious about Caroline (Candice King), Alaric (Matt Davis), Enzo (Michael Malarkey), and the other characters. With the writers including scenes from both the present day as well as three years in the future, it can get confusing. Hopefully, all of the plot holes and twisted storylines will make sense by the time The Vampire Diaries Season 7 finale airs.

What do you think of what Julie Plec had to say about “Kill ‘Em All?” How will Stefan handle things with Matt? Did Damon make a mistake by taking Rayna’s offer? Find out when The CW network airs a new episode of The Vampire Diaries on April 29.
