Mark Zuckerberg Told To ‘Leave Politics To Politicians’ By Donald Trump’s Rep

Mark Zuckerberg had a few choice things to say about GOP front-runner Donald Trump, according to Vanity Fair. The Facebook founder and CEO hinted at the real estate mogul during his speech at Facebook’s annual F8 developer conference last week.

And even though Mark Zuckerberg didn’t mention Trump by name, his address was directly referring to the GOP front-runner.

“I hear fearful voices calling for building walls and distancing people they label as others, for blocking free expression, for slowing immigration, reducing trade.”

Mark Zuckerberg added that instead of building walls, people could build bridges. Zuckerberg has always been supporting political efforts that would help reform immigration, which is why he is somewhat outraged by Trump’s promises to build a wall at the border with Mexico to prevent immigrants from entering the United States.

Mark Zuckerberg is half Trump’s age, and still he is worth more than five times as much. Zuckerberg is the owner of one of the most successful companies in the world, while it remains a mystery how successful all of the GOP frontrunner’s companies are.

In terms of charitable donations, Mark Zuckerberg pledged to give away 99 percent of his Facebook shares, while all Trump does in terms of donations is hold charity tournaments at his own golf courses around the globe. It has been estimated that Trump donated twenty-nine hundred rounds in the period between January 2010 and June 2015.

Trump’s presidential campaign camp was quick to respond to Mark Zuckerberg’s comments at Facebook’s event, according to Vanity Fair. Trump campaign spokesperson Katrina Pierson told CNBC that “self-righteousness isn’t very proactive.”

Pierson added that she will take Mark Zuckerberg “seriously” after the billionaire disbands all of his private security, moves out of his “posh neighborhood” in California and pays a visit to some “modest neighborhood near a border town.” Pierson insisted that Zuckerberg’s attitude would then change.

According to reports, Mark Zuckerberg has as many as 16 bodyguards working at his home. However, it’s unclear how vast his entire private security is. Pierson also added that the Facebook founder should focus on creating jobs and tech innovations and let politicians concentrate on politics.

Trump, meanwhile, has private security of his own. The real estate mogul resides in a gold and marble palace atop Fifth Avenue. When asked why Trump has more privileges than Mark Zuckerberg, Pierson dodged the question, saying that it wasn’t the GOP front-runner who said the wall shouldn’t be built at the border. She added that it is “hypocrisy.”

During his keynote address at the Facebook event, Mark Zuckerberg said the social network has been busy developing a set of social experiences across virtual reality platforms, according to The Verge. The Facebook founder said that virtual reality could hep Facebook to become the most “social” platform because it creates the illusion that you’re right next to another person.

Mark Zuckerberg was referencing an Oculus Rift demo that was announced by Facebook earlier. The demo allows two people to play together in virtual reality. But Zuckerberg predicts way beyond that: in his opinion, virtual reality has the potential to become part of everyday life.

“Over the next 10 years, the form factor’s just going to keep on getting smaller and smaller, and eventually we’re going to have what looks like normal-looking glasses that can do both virtual and augmented reality.”

What virtual reality means for the social network is that today, if you want to show someone a photo, you have to take out your phone and show a digital version of the photo. But with virtual reality you’ll be able to “snap your fingers and pull out a photo” in any size you want, Mark Zuckerberg said.
