Live Stream: Bangladesh Cricket Star Mustafizur Rahman Leads Sunrisers Hyderabad Vs. Royal Challengers Bangalore

Bangladesh cricket star Mustafizur Rahman, the 20-year-old pace bowling sensation, continues his rapid rise to world superstardom in an Indian Premier League match that will stream live on Saturday, with “The Fizz” leading Sunrisers Hyderabad against the batting powerhouse Royal Challengers Bangalore.

The match, a home game for Hyderabad, will be the second of the IPL season pitting Sunrisers against RCB. In the fourth match of the tournament, Bangalore posted a 45-run victory. But Mustafizur claimed a pair of wickets in his four overs, including a dismissal of South African batting giant A.B. de Villiers.

In his debut IPL season, the young Bangladesh cricket star has claimed seven wickets in 22 overs across six matches, tying him for fourth among all bowlers in the 2016 IPL.

But Mustafizur’s sparkling economy rate of 6.18 is tops in the league so far this year, among all bowlers with at least six overs. And in the high-scoring, free swinging IPL, the Bangladesh star is one of only nine bowlers to record a maiden over. Dhawal Kulkarni of the Gujarat Lions has two maiden overs to his name, the only bowler with that many so far.

First ball is scheduled for 8 p.m. India Standard Time at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad, India, on Saturday, April 30. For fans in the United States, the live stream gets underway at 10:30 a.m. Eastern Time, 7:30 a.m. Pacific.

While Bangladesh cricket fans have been astonished by the feats of Mustafizur Rahman for the past year — he celebrated his one-year anniversary in international cricket on April 24 — with his tour of duty in the high-profile Indian Premier League, Mustafizur has quickly become one of the best-known bowlers in the world, garnering praise from renowned international stars including his team’s captain, Australia batsman David Warner.

And opponents have taken notice as well.

“Mustafizur has got the skill set, X-factor Wasim Akram had. I wouldn’t say Mustafizur is swinging as much as Akram did but it is fantastic to see him bowl,” said South Africa great fast bowler Dale Steyn, who is on the roster of the Gujarat Lions this year.

“Every year somebody comes up, somebody steps up. At the World Cup, last year, we had Trent Boult and Mitchell Starc who came out and did something different. Now we have got Mustafizur from Bangladesh,” Steyn continued in an interview this week. “We are so used to right arm bowlers who bowl quick and also bowl off-cutters to surprise batsmen. Now this guy is a left-armer and his cutters and pace changes are things that nobody has seen before.”

But Mustafizur himself has taken his sudden stardom in stride. He claims not even to watch cricket on television.

“I don’t even see my own matches. I have been like this since childhood. I don’t know why I am like this, I just don’t like it probably,” he told The Deccan Chronicle on Tuesday. “I just do my bit and don’t look into anything else. I am glad I am able to provide happiness to people through my bowling but most importantly, the fact that I am able to do something for my country makes me feel good.”
